SHRCCC BRCA Regional Round Site and Race Information:

Track address is: Samual Cody Sports College, Ballantyne Road, Farnborough, Hampshire GU14 8SN.

Please see this PDF to give first timers an idea of the venue and layout: http://www.shrccc.co.uk/surrey%20and%20hants%20club%20layout.pdf

Phone number on the day for late arrivals is 07795 260571. Please send a text rather than call :D

Due to the nature of the site, no access is allowed before 7.00am. The track and pit space are inside a locked compound.

The committee will enter the compound and surrounding paddock pitting area at 7.00am and prepare for general opening at 7.15am. Committee members will be manning the gates to prevent access until the club officials are ready for the venue to accept racers. If you wish to form an que you are more than welcome to do so with your gazebo's and tables/chairs at the track entrance nearest the carpark (by race control).

Pitting will be inside the compound and behind the rostrum on the grass section. There is no pitting allowed from cars or the car park. You will be asked to move if you have set up there. We have enough room for around 70 racers+ trackside so it’s hoped the paddock will only be lightly in use or not even needed. Please be sensible where you place your tables and make room for other racers.

Mains power is available on one side of the compound only, the sports hall wall. Electric will be limited for each spur. 12v’s are fine in the compound, generators must be placed outside and away.

There will a food van from early on, please support them by purchasing lots of lovely meaty items, they also are doing chips for us. Normal selection of cold drinks, Chocolate Bar, Crisps etc etc.

There are male and female toilets complete with showering facilities. So if you have a long journey to us they are ideal to take advantage of for an extrra 20 mins in bed!

Schedule:

7.00am Committee enter track area to set up.
7.15am Trackside open for pitting. Track closed.
7.30am Track open for Open Practice (club member at the bottom of the rostrum allowing practicing drivers to have 4 minute slots. Once your time is up the rostrum will be cleared and another 10 drivers allowed up. You are only allowed one session of open practice. Your name will be taken and ticked off a list pre printed list.
7.30am Booking in open.
8.10am Booking in closes.
8.20am Track closed, end of open practice.
8.45am 4 minute practice in heat order, Cars on table, Marshall directly after your session.
9.35am Drivers briefing on the track.
9.45am First heat on the line.

If we have 10 heats the qualifying will be finished by around 3.00pm, allowing for a 20 minutes break for lunch and to organise finals.

During the lunch break, we will be having a concourse competition voted on by an unknown ‘G’ grade celebrity!. There will be a voucher on offer from our club sponsor Apex Models and also the prize of a free race entry upon a return visit to Surrey and Hants for the winner!

During this time the track will be closed (unless permission granted by race director) We hope to have all the racing wrapped up by inc trophies at around 5.00pm.

Chris Ellis has kindly volunteered to be our chief steward to monitor the finals from the rostrum. Please adhere to his comments.

Everything else will be covered at the drivers briefing in the morning after the practice round.

SHRCCC has a race meeting on Tuesday evening from 6.30pm and also open practice on Thursday night from 7.00pm for last minute practice

Looking forward to a good day for all, see you all there!

Not trying to cause problems but.....

Is the track being changed for Sunday?

I'm sure it's in the 'unwritten rules' that either the club dosent run the week before or the track is changed for the weekend?

Hi Paul

No problems with answering questions.

Our Tuesday and Thursday opening this week have been agreed with KW months ago.

We have two new features being installed this week that will not be put into place until Saturday, so the track will be different.

Hope that helps.

Well done to Kev, Glenn, and Matt some fantastic racing

Was just looking at the picture above and was wondering what tyre choices did everyone end up running, What with the heat and all ?
I can see that Kev dremelled the front's, which must have worked well !
Really must try that, have done it on 8th but never to that extent on the 10th ?

I found staggers without the inside and outside worked pretty well with mini pins on rear, was awesome with new set of rears. Found spikes too "loose" for me.

Thanks to all involved in running the meeting at S&H - great meeting, well organised and you even ordered the sunshine. Was not totally sure about the track when I arrived as I thought it looked a bit tight but it turned out to really flow well and there seemed to be some good racing throughout all the finals. Definitely a drivers track not a power track.

Does anyone maintain overall championship results or does that get sorted at the end of the season?

You can also look on the DMS Race Results Booking In website too (www.dmsresults.co.uk (http://www.dmsresults.co.uk)), the link is at the bottom of the home page entitled "Regional Results and Standings" although only 4wd at the moment, the 2wd results after 3 rounds will be added later this week when Keith has finished checking them over....

I think(hope) its just the headings on the linked pages, Kev at the top of both, but 2nd, 3rd etc........

so nice to see quick results this year and quick standings, good work

(all a bit 'code' when I get it on screen, needs a look at by someone,
Edit: I can see the page in Chrome, in IE9 I just get the html header no listing)
