Would this work?

Alright guys, I want a cheap spektrum receiver for a banger I'm putting together as I don't want my micro one to get broke, would these work with the spektrum module we use? Any difference between car & aircraft

might be so there isn't a clash between air and land systems just like we had with crystals

There shouldn't be any clash on 2.4 systems.
The module is dsm2 so would need to be compatible with that. Same as having a faast tx & rx.
The system I use is used by aircraft and cars.

I Have a feeling air and surface Spekky systems are not compatible else we would all be running cheapy orange spekky copies for car racing instead of the genuine spekky ones

Is the frsky system not for cars and planes? I bought mine from a place that sells them for gliders etc.
The only difference would be the extra channels and telemetry that we don't use. However with some of the jumps nowadays we do get airborne!! Lol

I believe that Spektrum code their surface and air systems differently and thus they are incompatible. I've tried a heli RX with my surface system and they wouldn't bind

futaba fasst (and its clones Frsky rxs work on fasst system) do not appear to be surface or air coded though

not seen them before well spotted , only drawback i can see is there DSM2 compatabile only so modules will not work .just the later DX3 series that have DSM2 abilities

If its got `AR` as the first letters they wont bind. It has to be `SR or MR` to bind with land TX`s And Futaba Fasst wont bind either as tried it, nor will the Acoms version as tried them too.

AR = Aircraft Receiver
SR = Surface Receiver
Mr = Marine Receiver.

im sure they will work with DSM2 suraface TX i think the clue is on the rx label "STR" = steering "THR"= throttle:thumbsup:

i have some orange air type to work with my flight stuff and not had any issues with them

thought i would update this quickly. I have purchased one of these orangy rx receivers and it works fine with my DX3C system. Slightly bigger than a micro spekky rx but loads smaller than the normal sized ones. For £8 cant complain either !!! :D
