Hi guys,

I imagine there is a thread somewhere around oOple, but i'm bone idle...

So, i'd like to know if anyone has heard anything about 2.4ghz not being allowed for the Belgian GP?

...and what the local bars/clubs/brothels are like by the track?

Pidge is the best one to recommend the bars, I believe he has a stalker at one of them....

There is live music and a beer tent on for Friday & Saturday night in the park, plenty of beer, and the fruit beers are freckin' gorgeous so try them.. I have just forgotten there name though, nevermind. Other than this, the night life seemed pretty none existent in the locality exept for the odd pub and restaurant, but Pidge will know more.

There is a supermarket on the main road, good place to stop for supplies.... but they don't cater for British drinkers, me and Dan emptied the shelves of beer and I think we only spent £30 each... LOL.

Nope. Just the owner of the largest Kriek brewery died recently (Belle vue).

BTW, Kriek is considered as a beer for girls in Belgium

If you get a chance tryout a 'Satan' or 'Barbar' those are real Belgium beers. But make sure you're not driving after the buzz will show.:)
But it its a fruit beer your after the try Lindermans

Freud , maxoo , and I went to try out the new track layout last weekend.:woot:
It's a very nice track. There's a licle wall-ride thingy now by the shed.

I had way too much grip at first  & had to cut some off the spikes of the Front mini pins ...

Was really nice.
Never got close to Freud's speed but I enjoyed it.

sorry ladz. couldn't make any pics of the new layout.
forgot the cam & my phone

The horror !!!! Carlsberg in Belgium !!
We have excellent lagers like Jupiler or Stella Artois.

If you REALLY want to try top quality Belgian beers : try some of the Trappist monastry beers like Westmalle or Chimay.
Or a Belgian classic like Duvel.

Just DO NOT try it before you have to drive (1/10th or 1/1 )

Then try some 2wd yellow schum staggered ribs at the front. Nice, consistant grip at the front.

mmm, Stella!! crazy juice

another question...

it appears that schumacher yellow minipins are a popular choice, but could people post what OTHER tyres seem to work on the track? 2wd/4wd/front/rear...

ps - what's the wear rate like, and what are worn tyres like on the track too? and what tyres would be suitable when it's wet (heaven forbid)?

cheers all!!

We also used to run Schum minispikes at Kampenhout. They had the advantage that they had more grip when you wandered off the racing line but in the end, we found the minipin more consistant and - above all - last longer.

Slightly worn minipins work OK (especially in 4wd) as long as you don't wander off the racing line. I personally don't like completely fresh minipins at Kampenhout. I run new tyres for 5 minutes in pratice before I use them during the race, but this is a personal preference. Others will disagree.

For wet weather : Ballistic minipin pink or green. The green works better when the track is drying out after a shower, put in general pinks are the safest bet in wet weather.

Front : Schum staggered rib yellow in 2wd AND 4wd (believe me : it works)
In wet weather : Ballistic minipin pink both 2wd and 4wd

That's AWESOME info here ! Thanks Stefke.

Some  :
how about foams ? Blue Schum, Losi White ? Super_Dan told me here to NOT use them on the 2wd fronts...

About those Staggered for the 4wd : do you cut the rim to make it narrow or you just stretch the tyre ?

Can't wait the GP :wub

I use a mix of Losi firm or schum blue inserts. No inserts in the front tyres

Staggered ribs at the front in 4wd : I cut the rims to make them narrow and cut of the bead of the tyres.

BTW : Cut and shut tyres are no longer allowed this year so I sometimes use schum minipin 4wd front tyres at the rear stretched on a wide rim (4wd only).

Hi,

You need small pins there, especially the rear. I tried a similar tyre which wasn't all that great. The front is a different story, stagger ribs are always good, but if you're like me and you can never have enough steering, something with pins could work too. Minipins in front is very agressive though :-)

(talking about 2WD)

The track has some subtle changes compared to last year, which makes it a bit more difficult to drive a perfect line each lap.

Back to Gayo's question which hasn't been answerred, has anybody tried GRP's on the front of 2wd?

How about GRP 2wd front on 4wd front?
