Just to let you know there is no problem with spares for Kyosho in the UK!!!

Apart from DC Racing, who should obviously be your first port of call ..... that goes without saying, I can think of 3 other big model shops that stock lots of Kyosho parts. I have used all 3 over the years and never had bad service for Kyosho or any other parts.

The RB5 is a great car, sort of a half way house between the B4 and XXX-CR in handling terms .... loads of steering like a B4 and nice and stable like a XXX-CR.

I have to say that if I wasn't running an RB5 then I'd probably go for the XXX-CR (a lot of people who know me won't believe they are reading that!!!).

It also depends on how much kit you already have...

A B4 RTR maybe a good option for you if you are just starting out at club. You could then upgrade to a slightly quicker brushless system for low maintenance to go with your B4.

As Rog says, the RB5 is also a good car, but you might find not many other racers have them at your local club. My local club (hereford) the only 2wd buggy there is, is B4's (there are about 6 of us now), so we share tips, parts and setup knowledge.

If your going for 4wd the Kyosho Lazer ZX5 RTR is also a good bet, and can be upgraded to SP level with the LAW35 conversion (I believe Rog??)

You are right there Mark

I will say though, don't make the same mistake that I did and run 4wd for 5 years before picking up a 2wd car!!

I'd always recomend that somebody starts off in 1/10th OR with a 2wd car and learn there skills. It is easy then to transfer to 4wd but not so easy to go in the other direction!!

It Mini JT is who I think he is then he has a Kysohso runner in his club who is more than happy to help ;)

Mini jt

The xxx-cr is very stable and IMO it handels in every way better than a b4. It rides the bumps real nice and parts are easily avaliable.

Guy minijt isnt a noob he is quiet a good driver with lots of exsperiance. he is king of minit's

Hi John!

Buy a B4, then you can race at Hereford. there are at least 5 B4's that race at Hereford regularly.

Not many placs to race them either ... truck is not popular in the UK.

If your talking about Gordy's B4 ...... well that's a 4.5 ...... crazy!!!! I am looking for 8.5s to do the same job ... LOL

Buggy is the way forward ....... RB5 of course ;)

if you want something 'bigger' but still like buggies, get An AE T4 with whatever elecs you want an a JConcepts J82 buggy convertion for it.

they really look like ace fun!

do a google for JConcepts J82.

there is no racing class for them in the UK, but there is not really many (any?) racing for trucks in the UK either, but if you just want to bash around I think this would be pretty ace

What on earth are you on Ash?

When have you seen an RB5 break? The only Kyosho part I have broken is one rear hub (part updated by Kyosho into the bullet proof plastic used on the ZX5-SP .... part #UM519) on a freak bad landing at a track where one heat I had EVERY losi car in the heat I was marshalling broken at my point before 3 mins in.

Please don't post things which have zero basis in fact!

Be different, be different, then spend 3/4 of your racing day stressing cos you cant set the car up and have no one around you to offer setup advice :woot:

Thats the key to a healthy RC life!

Long live me and my sheep cars ;) (RC8, B44, B4)

sounds like people who talk about the X11 before they have driven it :woot:

id go for a B4/T4... although i drive a losi xxxcr, the B4 is most popular and many people have spares trackside :)
