It's the weekend, I'm bored. If I buy a Mad Monkey kit to build I already know the kit shocks are not really ideal for racing (or as I prefer to call it, driving round sedately getting in the way ) so will either Losi XXX-CR, Associated B4, or Tamiya TRF shocks fit as I've already got some of these in my spares pile so don't need to spend anything extra.
What else is crucial for a Monkey kit to make it race ready other than a POM idler gear, a bearing set and the shocks and some turnbuckles (again already got plenty of them)?

Hi.
The xxxcr shocks fit but you will need the ball mounts also. Pink rear and blue/black front springs work well.
The monkey comes with bushings and obvious upgrade is bearings so that's the first job.
As for other bits I think you have covered most areas but to be honest the diff balls are a bit soft and graunch after a very short time. Go for some of buds ceramic bearings as they are a vast improvement.

Ah, that's good. Anybody know if the Team C upgrade driveshafts fit so I can use some of my 24,000 sets of B4 rear wheels?

As for the pin drive, speak to Dave Dodd, he runs pin drive wheels on his x2c.

Yes the driveshafts fit, essentially the same as the x2c same geometry etc just softer plastic. All the hop ups fit.
