Hi guys.

Just been looking at the rulebook and saw this ...

6.6 Individual Regions will decide which class(es) of motors are allowed for their Regional Series, i..e., 27Turn, 19Turn, Modified, Brushless, or any combination.

Are any regions actually using multiple classes (obviously other than 2wd and 4wd) ?

If you had say a 2WD open class and a 2WD 19 turn class at regional level how would you work out the F ratings?

Would the top 19 turn driver be an F2 as well as the top open class 2WD driver ???????

Hmmm, not sure about that. North east as well as most other regions I would guess run modified AND brushless together, no seperate class though.
I don't think the numbers are there to support more classes of motors.

the mid south doesn't have any seperate class. i think that rule means that the region can limit there series to 19t (for cost issues etc), or modified only, or allow any motor including brushless. i don't think it means they will run seperate series for each type.

You only grade your licence in Mod, we have had this issue in the Welsh region, if you have a series inside the Open rules, so that those with 19t or stock can score seperate points, but still obtain regional points.

If you ONLY have 19t then that will give the Licence grade, but once you seperate, the licence goes on the Open/Mod

Hi Steve

I think I see what you are getting at and that makes sense.

Thanks :)

it is complicated, but the regionals should reflect the nationals, although a region CAN stipulate either 27t limit, 19t limit, mod or open (including brushless), but the upper limit is what your licence is obtained on.

In the WRCA, this year, we had 'open' motor rules, but we also stated, that if those who wish to run stock motors for the series, could do so and have their own little side league, but as soon as you remove the stock drivers from the overall results, they can't score points to obtain their licence.

Hung up the 2D chassis's now have you Rob?

I have not raced TCs now for well over a year and cannot say I have missed it. I don't want to jump on the offroad is better than onroad thingy but personally I enjoy offroad more. There is little electric offroad near me so I have been doing Rallyx mainly and mainly at club level, did a few bigger meetings and one national though.

I forgot how much I liked the buggies and especially 2WD. I have got a new XXXCR and feel very much like an odd man out at the moment.

I am trying to work out what, if anything can be done to refresh offroad in our region. I have a few worries about a few small things in regards to cost - tyres and the need for 2 cars (not taking about me especially but just looking at the bigger picture)

I saw someone wearing one of jimmy's t shirts at the weekend -- that cool buggy cartoon just says it all for me :D

ah, my way, only thing worth racing at the moment is saloons, but at least my local club have taken a good decision to move away from Schumacher Carpet Dragons (bluuergh) to slicks and additive, so at least it is fun, although 19t just feels soooooooooooo slow after a 10x2 in a 2wd buggy.

Buggy has all but died here, lack of numbers, pressure on clubs from venues etc.... and then they start TC, then people want Carpet all year round, clubs just fold...
