Hi guys
So more help needed. I'm currently using my charger, sat on the engine of my van. This looks unprofessional and is dangerous i want to fit a 12v power point in the back of my van.
Will 2.0mm2 cable rated at 240v/16a be ok. My charger can theoretically pull 20a but obviously only at 12v.
Thanks in advance.
The third chart on this page http://www.windsun.com/Hardware/Wire_Table.htm shows cables, I and length possible safely (cable diameter is in AWG but the 4th table is a handy converter from AWG to MM).
Personally I wouldn't, I'd buy a leisure battery to charge off of.

It depends on the length of cable because at 240V you're not worried about losing a Volt or two but at 12V it makes a big difference.
So, maybe use 4mm2 or 6mm2 to be safe.

Thanks for that, I've used that chart for the 16 ft run I need it would have to be 10mm2, so as not to drop voltage. Pretty heavy duty! I've got a spare job battery which is similar to a leisure battery, on that they hold charge forever and don't get damaged by running flat.

Just need to get a split charging system installed so when you are not using the battery for charging it can be charged by the alternator during the week. :)

That's an even better idea. I need it aswell, I've just flattened my van battery charging all day at NDOR. Had to get bump started. Doh!
