thats just what they do. i have found they go when they have got some where in them, excesive droop or grass wrapping round them. to hot of a motor can cause this. i only ever run a 6.5 in mine and this is plenty

Where are they breaking? Pin end or the universal end?
Could you post a picture as i have an idea for how to prevent this.

My rear drv shafts have been in from new about 18months have snapped a couple of front ones mostly impact damage and i had to replace the rear prop shaft as it had worn the pin hole and kept throwing the pin out.
have been adding molly grease to the cvd's recently which helps but does collect sand and dust now lol..

Have been looking at my car and am thinking that the flipped wishbones may be the problem as the driveshafts are at a angle

Make sure the driveshafts are pointing slightly forward

Been running my X4 with flipped rear wishbones since I first built the car, not had any problem in the 9-10 months i've had it.
What made you change from the original kits ones? Did they break or was it due to being worn?

Are you running ball diffs or geared?

Check for clearance between the hex and the hub, as if there isn't enough the wheel will bind and cause excessive pressure on the d.shaft. if you get a .5mm shim between the hex and the bearing, that should solve it. Take your pinion off and spin the rear wheels to check. Hope this helps. :)

I tried the geared diffs and broke a few rears straight away but never with ball diffs

I'm assuming that's with the wheels cranked up tight, are you running any thing special eg flipped arms, overly tall, or over low ride height? As if there off parallel when its doing the major work can cause wear, I accept the fact they are supposed to work in 360, but there are tight points and if they are being hit under heavy load, then that could cause it.

Order the teamc t4 ones. Never broke one .even my old tc04pro ones are stil good. I run in my old tc04 a 4t for bashing:) and in my racing buggy i run a 6.5.
But grease them from time to time.

I have found that durango 410 rear drive shafts are a 95% direct fit you just got to run a hex of a x2c to fit
will test fronts soon
