Hi All

This is probably a very simple question but here goes. I have got a new ESC for my sons car, a Hobbywing EZRUN 60A. It is to be used initially with a 13.5 LRP Eraser motor purchased on here as he is still learning and a bit trigger happy.

The ESC has the ability to change the timing for more performance, will this work with the LRP or do we need a different motor for the timing changes to work?

TIA

Cheers

Gareth

Yup, should work with no issues.

Just keep an eye on motor/ESC temperatures as you wind the timing up!!

Excellent, thanks for that. What difference does the timing make in terms of motor equivalence, will it take it to a 10.5 level for example?

Could be yes if you time it enough..
Just check your motor and Esc temperatures!

I have always been running my ezrun 60A with the 5.5 motors with a timing of 26.25° and punch level of 7 with no problem on astro turf (Kampenhout - Belgium) in 4*4.
No problems whatsoever with them, but like Martijn pointed out, keep an eye on the temperature.
But - as I found out - the higher the timing, the lower the motor temperature! Strange but ...

Thanks chaps, my son will be delighted he can turn up the juice as he gets better.

How do you check the temps on the motor and ESC, is it a touch test?

How do you check the temps on the motor and ESC, is it a touch test?only if you want no fingerprints and a whiff of burning skin.

Get a digital thermometer

There are lots of others available, try ebay, giantcod, hobbyking and so on. Someone from your local club may also be able to advise.

(Should also be able to advise as to how hot is too hot!)

Thanks Martijn, however it seems like they do not like to sell to the UK, I can't find any dealers stocking them.
