Had some problems last night with my RS-pro.

Basically I run a DEX410, I have been running a X12 5.5 all season, and its never missed a beat,

I was racing indoors last night, quite a fast track. and it cut-out.
I swapped to my 6.5 for good measure. Still the same...

I got my temp gun on the motor and speedo, The motor was around 60*c & the RSpro battery terminals were about 62*c.

No too me thats not hot? There was a chap there running a 410 on the same gearing & same motor, Running an LRP SXX V2, His motor was nearly 100*c.

Is it a problem with the ESC or is that the normal sort of temp for an RS-Pro?

Is you capacitor on ok? Running two or four capacitors parallel in a bank helps with heat issues. I'd run the hobbywing 4x 330uf cap bank with it. I run the 2x bank on my RS pro in 2wd, but i don't have temp issues. They are the same spec solid electrolytic caps as tekin spec, just mounted on a circuit board. i kept having broken cap wires, so the board mounted cap bank is better.

My mate was running hot with his redline 5.5 and RS pro. Managed to get it down with hotwire setup and gearing. Since them i've read that extra caps help.
I'd try that.
What settings are you running in the speedo?
Also what gauge wire are you running?

I had a few probs with that as well I ended up if I remember right is lowering a lot of the timing/ boost /current limiter etc and that helped a lot without a real noticable drop in power
