Thought id share a little practice ive been doing lately. Have been doing this with a paper print out of a ruler and by eye so its not 100% accurate but pretty good.

WOW

I might have to do this also,
I'm studying electro-mechanics since there is mechanics and some electricity involved in RC cars I decided to make my thesis about RC cars :)

I might have to draw this also, could you send the dimensions to me? :D
Would help me alot!

Hi.

Looks well cool :)

What software do you use :

a: to model the b4 parts in?
b: to render the final images?

Cheers.

Done in Solidworks and rendered in Solidworks' Photoview 360. Im very impressed with the results and ease of Photoview. Years ago i used vray/3ds max to render product shots but this gives great images and is fast to setup and render.

Cool stuff!
i just acquired a b44 and looking at doing it in 3D too.
the main reason for that is mainly so that i have a template for the carbon parts.
i'll be doing this in Inventor 2012
if someone wants to join me, i'm prepared to share the work! solidworks parts also welcome!
Almunro, have you got any plans for the shell?

Yes i think i will attempt a standard B4 shell. Havent done a lot of surfacing in Solidworks so could be a good challenge.

I have actually done a lot of surface modeling in solidworks, and it is one of my favorite things to do actually. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes a lot of fun. Just remember the main difference is in the way the sketches work. Where you might make full inclosed sketches for most, surfaces like to use non inclosed sketches. Once you get through that then the options come alive.

btw bodies are some of the fun parts to do on cars.

Hi,

The B4 looks great!
I thought you may like to see my virtual Schumacher collection done in catia v5 and then saved as a 3dxml to use a 3dxml viewer.

Models are found here: -

(Has to be viewed on a PC)
