Just got myself an Axial SCX10 land rover trayback conversion.

Never had a crawler before but started to want one a few months back.

Big shout of thanks to nealLewis, metalMickey0 and others for their help and guidance on what to buy.:thumbsup:

Only had it a couple of days now, but absolutely loving it. It is awesome what it can do, and so relaxing doing it!

Cant wait to start modding it and making it my own! :)

Here is the build thread with pics of its original owner whom I bought it from:

Good news Cardnim. Glad you are enjoying it. It looks great.

I'd not had mine out for a few weeks, but did last weekend on a counrty walk with my daughter. She loves chasing it down the paths, and should get it out again this weekend for a walk.

I've made some new battery holders each side of the transmission on the side rails to hold a pair of small 2S 2200mAh lipos. Works great, rolls less due to lower CofG, but climbing isn't restricted, better if anything due to less rolls.
The new packs perform well, I got 69 mins of constant running out of one 2200mAh lipo, and the other pack took me back with lots of charge left. Ideal as we'll never be walking for more than 2 hours.

I may need to find some tyres that work better in the sticky mud. my kit axial tyres did seem to clog up quite a bit this last run.

Glad we could help and also ditto on the above. I reckon you`ll be wanting to do some of your own mods to it soon as its very addictive:thumbsup:
