Any pics jet? With the long chassis been in production I guess there will be a sp3 or even a rb6 out?
Kyosho makes the wait really thrilling all the time

Looks like rear motor to me...

I was watching it at stotfold and didn't have good signal so the video kept buffering, i didn't see that motor sticking out the rear until I got home :D:D.

V happy with my DB1. However I hope that wheels and other items can be compatible as it's great with similar parts etc.
Fs2 / rb5 common parts makes it much nicer etc.

Me like it a lot
And I hope it will be rear only dirt machine, got my DB1 for everything else !
I noticed the angled wishbones on the rear, longer wheelbase and especially the new front tower.
Can't wait !
1st of august, that is quick! Great to see a new car, the RB5 is around since 2005, I think.
Now what I would like to see is a ZX-6 with a simplified design and access to the tranny, diffs etc. Ah, dreams
the RB5 is around since 2005, I think.
The main chassis of the RB5 has actually been around since 1999.... :woot:
It was the chassis for the Ultima RB Type R, one very minor tooling change and it became the RB5 chassis !

the "RB6" looks odd.. so familiar with the "5" after the "RB".
KYO55 would be a better name :D
Anyway nice appreciation of the Losi design.
@MOGGIE XL: jepp think so but no idea what he exactly does.
Hope the price drops like the SP2WC price. List price is way high.
Body and side guards look nearly waterproof.

Nice looking car, like the steering rack design.
No conversions or doner cars required!

To be honest its a pure copy and nothing else. Ok front is slightly different and more like the rb5 used to be but this is for sure not a car anybody will celebrate as an innovation.
Shock quality and quality in general always was awsome so overall it should be one of the best cars around

Teabag must have liked the 22, he made kyosho make one :woot:
how many have a heavy heart, having owned a 22 mine is very, was so looking forward to something different, never thought for one min it would look like this:(
The RB5 was neither the most innovative, and it is a damn good car though (insert Kyosho fan emoticon here)

Are there any real new ideas left? Most things in all walks of life take inspiration from other designs around them - with some refinements here and there. The RB6 may be inspired by other designs (one possibly very close to my own heart ) but I'm sure it'll have a special K twist thrown in for good measure.
I for one like the look of this and applaud Kyosho for it - and whilst I'll not be able to run one personally, I think it's an important model for Kyosho and the fact that it's another large manufacturer who feels the need to accomodate both the arguably European-centric mid motor concept (sorry Chaz) along with the more traditional US / Japanese rear motor design speaks volumes about how important its becoming for the large industry players to be global and to cater for all markets.
I'm loving the material choices and the cell layout. Interesting design solutions and no doubt many more arguments as to whether the cells are the right way round or not ;)
The fact that it doesn't need a donor or another conversion kit won't stop conversions becoming available - and that's also a good thing as it keeps interest in the class overall and there's plenty of room for everyone. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. Any going to Silverstone this weekend?
Looking good from here - nice work.

the RB5 has a long history, the type R is now 12 years old and the RB5 is just the same with "a few new parts"
Back than this car was innovative, had no E clips as far as I remember and so on.
It is just a bit sad they decided that copying the best car out is the fastes way to get a car done. So many prototypes have been seen and they end up with a more or less straight copy. Looks strange now after testing so many parts in the old car. They could aswell put new parts tested in an SP3 but it looks like they wanted to copy the rear motor option from losi and just didnt find a way to do this the same way with the rb5.
Looks a bit made in a hurry without passion.
I didnt expect the wow effect of the tlr22 but I was looking for more than a different steering link just to make it look different
Are there any real new ideas left?
No, we can stop here :P
Come on, it is not a full 22 copy - the front shock tower looks rather B4ish!
To be honest, the large shock tower is the part I like least on this car. Being far from an innovative piece of kit, it still looks decent, however.
K parts in Germany are far too expensive (e.g. BB springs at approx. 20 euros a pair), so it won't be an option for many hereabouts. Even importing Yokomo bits from France or Japan is cheaper than buying Kyosho spares locally - and domestic Yokomo parts support is improving.

thats true mes, from germany too and plastic parts are well priced but all steel, alloy and tuning parts are ridiculously expensive.
I bought a RB5 when it came out and the sp1 upgrade kit and quite some stuff but only two parts in germany. I didnt know the prices are that different to nitro 8 scale prices and I didnt check before buying.
If you need a new shock body you are broke :)

Well looking at the pics i think I am going to have to sell my sole to the dvil and get one of these. If they get it as right as the ZX5, this car is going to be awesome.
K quality with the best shocks in the world, just hope us mere mortals can drive it???
Does anyone have a date of avaliblilty in the UK and cost?
