Hi Mick, sorry not sure of your name on the forum.

Was delighted going home yesterday with my new SP stock club ESC as it looked like plug n play type - great for me ;-)

So I set to the task and desolder the 3 wires to the motor from the GTB and solder the new wires from the SP ESC, connected to the Rx and plugged in the battery - managed to do the calibration with the Tx and switched off the Rx all as instructed by the manual then turned it on and nothing :-(

the orange and red LED should be on solid but the red one is flashing indicating from the manual the ESC detected low battery voltage ??? strange cos the battery used was charged. so swapped battery and same.

gosh - if I had any hair left I'd be pulling them by now !!!

Any idea why ? is it because I'm not using the corresponding SP motor from the combo ? (the motor I use is a Tekin 10.5T - I know it works as I used it before with no problem) might get it to be on the safe side !

I double check that I solder the 3 wires properly A-A, b-b, c-c, the sensor wire is connected. can't figure it out !!!

Cheers,
G.

check the voltage cutoff.

from the manual it says that by default the threshold voltage cut off is set at none. So it's not set hence why I'm a bit surprised. what should be the voltage cut off per cell should be for each cell ? As far as I know shouldn't go below 3v per cell to be safe for not damaging the lipo cell, is that right ?

Cheers,
Gilbert

That's right, however I always set mine to 3.2v for added insurance.

ok, I'm gonna try to set it manually to 3.2v and see if that works. If it doesn't it will have to wait till we come back from the the hols. "crap" will have to tell my son we won't be bringing his car on hols

that's bad form from SP to buy something new that needs to be flashed -like firmware update ?- before first use :mad:

Thanks for the offer but we're leaving to my parents in France until the end of the month - I'll come to the club when we come back if that's ok.

Thanks for your support :-)

Gilbert

PS good luck to all for the national

I got some information from Schumacher today.

That speedo cannot take firmware updates.

Now some good news (Hopefully)

When calibration to the TX is finished, switch the ESC off and on again (this is essential)
You should have a solid orange LED and a flashing red LED
The flashing red LED indicates the ESC is in “blinky” mode.

Let me know if this works.

Enjoy the holiday.
