Just moved up to futaba 2.4ghz and found my ko-propo servo could not cope. It was twitching ,jamming and sometimes just refusing to turn. Anyone know what best servo to install to work with 2.4ghz, will just plain digital servo do or do i need to buy spectrum based servo

Any make of servo should work. Make sure that if you are using analogue servos then do not turn on the HRS mode as it will kill the servo just leave the TX in PPM mode. You can use HRS with any digital servo and it should work fine.

If you use a NON digital servo with High Response Rate setting on your transmitter then the servo will sit there and vibrate and will burn out eventually. You need to set your response rate down to 'normal' when using 2.4ghz systems with NON digital servo's. If you use digital servo's you can use High Response Rate.

Try setting it to PPM. Has the PS713 got a separate FET Lead? If not try running a small capacitor in the receiver to balance the BEC power. You might also want to check if the FET choke is bust...
If not buy yourself a decent 9550, KO 2143, Sanwa ERG-VZ or even a Bluebird 6 or 8 series.
I've used the 9550, the ERG-VZ and a KO 2123 with Spektrum without trouble apart from having to use a capacitor in the receiver.

What size capacitor is best for the receiver?
thanks.

Something like a 10V 4700µF will do. You can also get away with a smaller one if you have space trouble. This will also make your personal transponder work better if you are having trouble with it.
You san solder it up to a spare servo plug or even splice it into your servo/speedo/pt lead. It goes on the plus and minus leads. Be sure to wire it up with correct polarity and to insulate the leads well or it will go bang nicely killing everything. :)
