I have recently bought a used Sanwa Exzes X with RX-451 receiver and I find I get jittering / twitching of the steering servo at the neutral position.
I am using a Savox 1258 servo (which is brand new) and have tried switching over to my spare Savox 1258 and I get the same thing.

Could this be a problem with the radio gear?

Can anyone shed any light on why this is happening?

I'm using a LRP SXX V1 ESC if that makes any difference.
I know of someone else at my club that uses the same radio gear with the same servo and he doesn't have this problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Check to see if you have a range problem as well !!

What would a range problem indicate?

Try binding your car to a different model number on the handset, like 10 or something you've not used and se if that solves the issue.
A mate did it for a glitching speedo and it worked. Strange, but worth a try

What would a range problem indicate?

It could indicate an aerial problem.

Borrow your friends’ aerial and see if the jittering goes away

I'm running an EXZES X with a 1258 and again no problems.

Just a thought. When you look at SET-UP [MOD] TYPE what do you have set? Mine is set to FH3. If I try the other modes (FH2, FH3F) I too get jittering.

Is it the RX-451 (with the mostly brown sticker) or the RX-451R (mostly black sticker) receiver you have? If it's an R and you have the transmitter set in high response mode that can make servo's get a bit confused if they're not compatible with SSHR.

What happens if you swap the servo and ESC plugs in the receiver? It might be a faulty/worn pot in the transmitter on the steering stick. If the ESC starts jittering about after you've swapped the plugs over I'd guess at it being the pot.

Thanks for all the ideas guys, I'm itching to get back home and try to fix this but I am away for a week now. I will report back when I've run a few tests. By the way it's not the R model receiver I have, it's the RX-451
In the mean time keep sending ideas and advice, it's much appreciated.

There was an issue some time ago between LRP speedos and savox servos which may explain you're problem. Try a different make of servo/speedo. Regarding radio being in wrong mode, I don't think it'll work at all in the wrong output mode.

I have been running the LRP ESC and Savox servo with Futaba 3GR radio for some time without any trouble, but I will try changing the ESC over to eliminate that.

The guy I was saying about changed roughly 3 lrp speedos thinking they were faulty before changing to a different model number on the hanset and found that cured his issue of glitching. Savox and lrp in his car too. After doing it, he had no problem. We have no idea why, but it has to be worth a shot first as it's a 5 second job

Deffo. Easier to change radio settings than to replace parts, and cheaper. Lol

Thanks to all who offered suggestions on this, and particularly to Griff55, who was spot on!

I have cured the glitching of the steering servo by selecting a different Model number, re-binding the receiver (not sure this was needed but did it anyway), and this cured it.

I then copied this new Model profile back to Model 1 and no glitching on this either.
Its weird, I don't understand the root cause, but very glad its gone away and thanks again, fantastic forum this!

Still trying to get to grips with this Sanwa gear, can anyone offer any advice on whether to use the SHR or Normal mode on the steering and throttle? (not had a chance to back to back test it yet)

I'd say it's likely that you had something set somewhere that was upsetting it. By starting fresh, this removed that setting.

As for SHR / Nor it depends on the other gear. I think you'd be ok with SHR on either your esc or servo. For less hassle, probably as well stick with NOR.
