I got the email about Winter Race Ireland.
Shame guys, but understandable. Really sorry this wont go ahead though.
Can I advise to make a big announcment about this on oOple.
This Ireland thread is not enough.
Alot of UK racers were looking information on Winter Race Ireland when I was at oOple race and the sooner that is got to them, the better the Irish reputation for quality & professionalism remains.
Cheers for the efforts, lets hope something can be got for 2013. :)

The DMCC did not want it put up on here UNTIL We HAD A VENUE
It was put up by someone without the approval or knowledge of the committee
It was to AVOID exactly this happening making it look badly organised on our behalf

Really? But the official "sticky" thread on here was started by someone called "Winter Race Ireland" and signed by the DMCC committee?!
Seems official to me.
Not muck raking, just trying to clear up the confusion. :/

Pity it's not going ahead, but it's not easy to get a suitable indoor venue.
Meangombine, you need to be more subtle in your trolling and at least pretend you have a clue what you're talking about in order for it to work. Otherwise you just look like an idiot. Must try harder. h0m3sy is doing a much better effort

Hi Lads,
The DMCC have a new winter venue. Here's some short clips & pics of the initial setup work.
As a side note the driver of the tractor who delivered the astro turf estimated we had about 8 tons of stuff:woot:

It's about 1km from Naul village. Place looks great, was up there yesterday and it's really taking shape. It'll easily be as good as the last place, probably better!
The track area is slightly narrower, but a good bit longer. Still work to be done, but the hard stuff is over, all the astroturf is in place.
Fair play to Graham for getting the place! Nice timing too, just as it's getting cold!

Fair play to the lads(you know who you are) who put in a momentous effort today laying out and cleaning the track + sorting out the pit area.
Graham's design for all the jumps worked out great, he pre-made a giant jigsaw puzzle and it all went together perfectly.
All the jumps are modular and we can change the jump configuration very quickly, very clever :D
I had a very quick spin around the track, its quite tricky and technical and good fun :D
Sorry no pics I was too knackard at the end of a long day

Lads,
Directions to the new venue for anyone who needs them:
Take Exit 6 off M1. Its sign posted for Naul/Balbriggan. Take road to Naul.
When you come into Naul village, take Right at T-junction (signposted for Oldtown/Drogheda). Follow this road for approx 800M.
You will see a derilict cottage on your left as you go up the hill. The enterance for the venue is 15M past this on the left.
There should be a DMCC sign outside the gate.

Last version was better.
Don't agree with that.
Previous version wasn't very user friendly. It was very static, with no real way of showing what was happening in the club.
(Only the twitter feed on the old site was updated!)
Hopefully with the new layout, it will show what is happening in the club.

I never really looked at the old site that much and don't really care what format you choose for the website but there are a couple of errors in the new site which need fixing or adjusting.
1. For me None of the links for the rules work
2. The links page is not the rules page a quote in the page text
3. Am I missing something or are there actually results for the 2012/2013 indoor champs somewhere as I cannot find them. I may just need glasses.
4. On the home page is it nessecary to have a news link and twitter link planted in the middle of the page. Surely some sort of static information outlining details on the club and what it's about plus some information on the sport would make for a better first page for people to see.
Stick the twitter feed to the side and have a news section separate would give a better structure to the site.
5. I maybe wrong but is the committee not different then what is quoted.
6. The getting started page should this not be the home page as it says nothing to me about how to get started in the sport if that's what the aim is of this page.

Hi all..any word on the layout yet?..getting excited here.
just a thought about ramps and jumps.. I don't know how good we all are at making proper jumps..I know I'm shit at woodwork but I know a guy who isn't .
Martin Doghery from badmcc has made lots of amazing jumps for the nitro guys for the kings hall event..maybe worth a chat with him to ask if he could make something..that's if you guys run into any difficulties.. Just a thought

Hi all,
Just want to let everyone know the DMCC are holding an open day on Sat May 11th.
We are opening the track to any electric car that might get around the track.
Posters have been put up in various locations around Dublin and the surrounding area. The idea being to let possible newcomers know about the club.
We will be running a few normal heats during the day depending on the number of members that show up.
So if anyone is interested in coming along you are very welcome.

Hello all members
We have secured the keys for the new venue at St Margarets.
We want to show everybody the new venue and what the future can hold for us.
We intend to stop racing at 3pm this weekend and bring everyone down afterwards to the new site.
We would request everyone to make the effort to get there, even if you cant make the racing we would urge you to meet us at 3pm near there and show you.
This is a great opportunity for our sport and the clubs future.
We can only make it work if everyone pulls together with help and input.

For the attention of all racers
we will be changing the track AFTER this sundays racing 30th March.
We will require members to carry out a small bit of work on sunday
1) Track hoovering If you have a spare hoover please bring it along. The track has to be hoovered and the pits.
Then
2) Cordless drill We will need all the white hose to be unscrewed and the screws left on the table beside the rostrum.
The jumps should be lifted up and placed on the main straight ( after it has been hoovered).
The hose can be left on the track where it is just remove the screws.
When this is done the new track will be laid on wednesday night ready in time for the following sunday.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT MEMBERS HELP WITH THIS

I'd just like to thank all the members who took the track up on Sunday & hoovered the track.
It was great to arrive to a blank canvas & just get on with laying out the new track.
In total 13 members were involved in making the changes, fair play to everybody involved.

well done to all who laid down the new track.it was fast and flowing and made for some close racing . i think most drivers liked it and it's much better to marshal with the removal of the flyover, i liked the inner sections and there are some good spots for overtaking or in my case for being overtaken! LOL. the platfom at the w.o.d is also a good feature but is deceiving and caught out many a driver from all levels of abilities ! the micros went really well on it too. looking forward to getting to grips with the new layout over the next few meetings , roll on the summer champs and again well done.
