Awesome speedo!
We use to run VTC (previous speedo from Orca) and the VX while being quite smaller run as cool as the previous one but with a much flatter powerband meaning more torque available on the whole band. So much that my 7.5 has become too much motor and I started using 10,5 again as on track I don't feel a hole in mid band as I was previously.

Freq drive is a must too as it allow a very smooth power delivery.

Was expecting a lot but got much more, for me one of the best on the market today by far.

Avoid like the plague...

Myself and several others have been waiting since last year to have Orca products replaced (Vritra Pro MkII) I know of at least ten people who are in the same boat and neither the manufacturer or UK importer (Answer RC) have done anything.

Great products when they work, but the worst after-sales I have ever seen...

Got some issue with sensor board on VTC and turnaround was quick, around three weeks including shipping to HK.
Maybe Answer was to blame but I've got nothing bad to say about customer service (and I have no distributor in France).

That being said, the VTC may have issue with this specific part going bad but the last firmware was supposed to adress that issue. So far no problem with mine on my 4wd.
Been running the VX a lot since May and it's even better with no issue so far.

Yes, in December, the others I know of were all some time before this with exactly the same issue..

This was followed up some months later by several emails, phone calls and then emails directly to Tianco, which looked promising and then led nowhere.

Absolutely useless, they seemed to last about 4-5 months and then the sensor boards would go pop...

Interesting.. is that covered under warranty? (Craig?)

Yes it should be, when it first went back I was told it would be repaired if I sent it back, so it went back recorded delivery, then nothing... that was eight months ago!

Even when threatened with legal action, they didn't seem to care as they know how long it takes to get something done.

Just a warning, obviously its up to you, but from my experience I would never buy or recommend orca ever again..

Is it the shop that sold it have to replace it or do they in turn send it on to the manufacturer to get repaired

Normally it would be the retailer that would send back to the manufacturer, but these were purchased from MK Racing, who had ceased trading, hence going direct to Answer..

I sent mine back to Answer last november, numerous phone calls later and being told they were waiting for the updated version to come in ,still nothing. It was a really good speedo for the short time that it worked.

Hope we could find a solution quickly, I advised Orca Asia about it.

Like I said I had no issue myself when I needed a repair, it was on the older VTC and so far didn't happened once updated (a good eight months).
Did send it to Orca repair service directly.

VX, no issue so far on four months of solid use.

Hi tomtom do you find the mtors stay as cool with the new speedo compared to the VTC? It sounds like you've gained more mid range power, very interesting....

Yes it stays as cool as the VTC.

The VTC was cooler than the motor (still run one on my 4wd) but the VX run hotter than the motor but far from thermaling.

I ran a fan this summer with boosted 10.5 but it's fine without one. my buddy didn't use one with a 7.5 and so far no issue (he does run a lot).

Very impressed with this one, they really did a great job and it may be even better with the 3.0 firmware update.

Indeed the VX offers a very linear powerband with a huge midband power I didn't expected as I haven't found that kind of feel in any esc i've tried so far.
may be due to proprietary fets (at least this one is not a rebranded esc).

Can't wait to try the new TX motors too.
