View Full Version : Lightweight outdrives TD310275 - too short?

I just bought a set of lightweight diff outdrives 310275. The Durango website shows them to be an option for the DEX410 and DESC410 all varients.

I'm confused, when I compare them with the standard outdrive they are approximately 5mm shorter in the section that the drive shaft goes into. As my driveshafts currently only just stay in their outdrive slots I can't see how the lightweight ones will retain the drive shaft.

It's as though they have been designed for a longer drive shaft, but I don't see any as an option. Has anyone else fitted them?

No - as the weight of the differential assembly as a whole (and where it's heavy) makes lightweight outdrive pointless.

Actually its just the rotating mass that you need to consider. Anyway, I needed new ones and thought I'd try these - always one for something new.

Anyone tried them yet?

Hi,
These outdrives are for the DEX210 platforms, I'm not sure why they've been added as DEX410 series option parts, they've not been designed for this.
If you've bought them in error, please contact the support e-mail address mentioning this post.

Ah! now it makes sense and I see you have had your website information changed to read 210 rather than 410.

No probs, I have 210's as well so they are still useful.

Yep, that's why i mentioned where they're heavy.

Maybe it will be harder than stock ones, the stock ones in high grip with 6,5T show some use after 1 event.

cheers
