Since I now know the single class restriction has been lifted, I would like to race another class on top of mini. I have quite a large stable of cars, both nitro and electric. For obvious reasons I will go electric but which of the these vehicles would be most appropriate for racing (I've left out the useless ones e.g. Midnight Pumpkin, Baja Champ lol) and what class would it be put in?

Traxxas Stampede VXL
Ansmann Mad Rat
Tamiya Blitzer Beetle
Associated RC10b2

Or should i just go out and buy a Team C TC02C or equivalent?

Madrat I would say as it would go into the most popular class 2wd buggy. My next choice would be the associated but it's not ideal as its rear motor.

I'd give it a go with one of your existing cars before buying another, but if you do the team c would be a good choice.

The Mad Rat it is then.

My Associated is it a much better car but pretty much a relic. I've just researched it and parts availability is a real problem.

I'll prep the Mad Rat with some of my parts bin electronics and see how it goes.

Definitely interested in seeing how my mini does at Broxtowe. I might go this weekend.

I've just inspected the mad rat, stock tyres, ribs up front, pins on the rear. Massive binding issue on the fron wheels, seems to be a known issue. Ordered a new spektrum receiver. I've got no confidence in the plastic shocks, the caps keep popping off. I'll superglue them on :)

Motor choices are

HPI Saturn 20t
Trinity P2K2 pro Stock 27t
Reedy Radon 17t (needs a rebuild)
Some monstrous 12t Trinity, can't remember the model, sticker missing (also needs a rebuild)

I reckon the saturn will be ok to start with after I give the car's bearings a good flush and lube.

you could do with some pins up front or staggers i don't think ribs will give much grip on carpet. i have only ever run them once and could not get them to work at all.
you should try to get up this saturday i will be running my supastox and may run my 4wd should be a good night.
i would rebuild 12t or 17t motor and get some power in your buggy

I dont understand that statement because as far as i know both cars are rear motored. Its the Mad Monkey thats mid motored as i got one so i know.:D

Oh yes so it is, still think it would be the car to use though
