Hi Guys,

Recently got a Losi 22 and need some help getting the electronic for it.

I know I want brushless and LiPo's but haven't got a clue which ones to look at.

I want to get into racing with it but also would just like to bash it around a bit.

If anyone can point me in the right direction or suggest some equipment I'd be really grateful.

Thanks!

Where are you based?

What £££ can you spend?

Hi,

I'm based in Essex, England.

I have around £300 for motor, ESC and LiPo.

Few things to bear in mind, don't forget a charger. Two batteries is useful for racing. Faster isn't necessarily better when it comes to motors. The 22 isn't really much of a bashing car, you may do a fair bit of damage. (these last two are from bitter experience!)

And with £300 you can get some really nice gear! I kitted out my 210 for under £200 in the end. (but already had a charger)

Hi chap,

Space is a main problem with the 22

I use a Low Profile Servo, Futaba S9551

The Esc is a main issue, you need something with a small footprint, something around 35x35 is ideal, I have been using a LRP SXX Comp Version 2, Just about to change to a Speed Passion, its larger than the LRP but should fit with a bit luck

The Receiver, I use a FrSky TFR4 with my Futaba Setup, mounted on its side next to the ESC

Last the PT, I still use the larger AMBrc type, just stuck this on top of the servo !!

All neat and tidy !!

Like I said the main issue with the 22's is space, using the Low Profile Servo helps a lot with esc mounting!!

Hope this helps a little

Get down your nearest track, see what they use, if you like them they'll pass you on a good ESC set up. I'd get two batteries if racing.

Best advice so far - I'm sure the local racers can point you in the direction of a good shop to buy from as well. Good support for the stuff you buy is very important.

Thanks for the help.

I already have a receiver (SR300) and a servo (Savox SC1251MG).

I'm going to try out a couple of local clubs and ask them what they recommend.

Thanks,
