I have built and taken apart both diffs several times and they could really do with shims behind the rings. You have to really screw them tight to get the diff to even engage. I don't want to ruin the thrust washers with all the excess tension.

So where can i get 4 shims that will fit? Any ideas?

Apart from another issue I got resolved, the build quality and strength seems really good for the price they are at right now. I have upgraded the shocks and added proline beadlocks with caliber tyres, it looks great. This was originally for my daughter, she might be getting my old rat now

I forgot a couple of pics - I was going to put in stock motor and basic esc for her. I may beef it up with something faster, it depends if i can upgrade battery mount - maybe associated posts with carbon plates, dunno yet.

I have never had a problem with building the diffs in either my X4pro or TE.

I do know of one person who struggled to get the diffs to engage, turned out that he had put the little o-ring that is supposed to go in the slot at the top screw underneath the screw head and so he was tightening it right up but not getting enough pressure on the thrust race. The instructions are a bit vague with this so it's an easy mistake to make. Personally I leave the o-ring out as it has been know to catch on the outdrive and loosen the diff off in use.

Only other thing I would suggest is making sure the the spring has been compressed with a pair of pliers before you put it in and also make sure it freely goes into the outdrive without much force.
