I dont really understand these c numbers

I have a 1s 3.7v lipo 25c 50c burst 3200 and a 1s 3.7v 65c 5600 lipo

I have been told my suspastox with a 13.5 in will perform the same with both batteries as the core esc can only draw so much current

Is this true ?

If you believe the numbers, the first LiPo can deliver a constant 80A (3.2x25), the second can deliver a constant 364A.

The Core ESC is rated for a constant 45A. 364A would burn out the wires!

In my experience, older/cheaper 25C LiPos don't feel as punchy as newer 50C LiPos, but the difference is small, and you may not even notice it in the Supastox.

Test and see which one gives better laptimes. Then use the better one for your racing.

The C rating is supposed to represent the amount of current that the battery can safely discharge, so for your two different packs the smaller one is 25 times the capacity, so 25 times 3.2 amps = 80 amps continous discharge whilst the larger capacity one you have should be 65 times 5.6 amp = 364 amps.

But I think a lot of the manufacturers exaggerate these C ratings, Big Squid RC and Ultimate RC have done quite a few tests and reviews on different batteries which has shown such claims of discharge ratings to be taken with a pitch of salt.
For me I like to stick with one make, I've tried expensive ones and found them to have puffed even though they were always balanced charged and always stored at approx 60%. But I find my Vapexech packs are always good, plenty of punch and still going strong after nearly two years.

For your SupaStox I would suspect that Schumacher have sized the speedo up well at 45 amps so both batteries should be more than good enough.

The C ratings are largely irrelevant for a Supastox, and wholly unreliable anyway. Within reason, manufacturers can make the C rating whatever they want it to be.

The only relevant number is the capacity. A higher capacity cell will have less voltage drop during a race, and the longer the race the more the advantage. Like Sosidge, I've tried a few and settled on the ones that gave the best lap times in the last minute of the race. They're SMC 5600 cells, and they work just fine. HTH :)

Thanks for the replies

I decided to order some new turnigy cells as they seem good value

I will test my batteries back to back
