After finally seeing a couple more dex410s run at my track and after running them a bit my self I notice they are a lot more smoother and make much less noise.
When I pick mine off the ground and accelerate it seems to make a rattling sound, it sounds like the wheels are off balance and everything is vibrating (they are balanced)
I have my diffs all shimmed correctly and just tried replacing my spur gear.
I have tried running without the tires and it still makes the noise.
Tried running only 1 input shafts on both front and rear to the slipper/spur assembly, and it still makes the vibrating/rattling sound on both front and rear, it dose not make any sound if I have no shafts connected to the slipper/spur assembly.
I just recently put some grease on the outer gears on the diff assembly, so that should not be the problem.
Any help would be great!

mine does that if i dont have the droop screws in at the back, as the drive shafts are sitting at too much of an angle to run smoothly. Stick em in so that the wishbones are sitting slightly higher - job done!!
You can test this by holding the rear wishbones with 2 fingers and giving the throttle a squeeze!!

It's because the driveshafts are at an angle because of the droop, try it again with the wishbones supported so the driveshafts are level and it will be fine.

I changed my droop screws so that they keep the wishbone level and it sounds great! :thumbsup:
What amount of droop would you guys recommend to run as a base set-up, on a fairly high traction track with some decent sized jumps?

i dont like to use the droop screws at all but being a bit anal with rattles and vibrations etc i screw the droop screw in from the underside of the wishbone so that the head of the screw is being used as a kind of spacer. seems to be fine and best of all no noise!!!:thumbsup:

Hmm yea I did the same but when screwed in all the way it makes the rattling sound, I will try backing the screw off until it stops.

Don't use the droop screws to stop the vibration as the car will be at it's ride hight on the track which will be about driveshafts level.
On a high grip track I would start with the screws one turn off full droop, less droop will help reduce turn in grip roll at the expense steering on the way into the corner.

The durango will be a bit noisier than most due to the metal ring gears. Even with the machined ring gears, djoints, my car stills howls down the straight (which may or may not be to do with the turbo timing :lol:).
Make sure there are no seized bearings anywhere, as this can be a source of excessive noise as well.
