speed problems

Problem i have is that my dave not very fast on the straight and out of corners i played with the timing and got it on max revs
my setup is 47d tyres 70s 29p 1s 120A toro esc max punch and timing on the speedo and 1s lipo new 40c 6000mah and my mate is on the hobbywing 1s and 50d tyres blinky and so much faster than me is it the esc thats the problem? cheers

What motor are you running?

What controller are you using?
Have you calibrated it to the ESC?

sky toro 1s 120A esc and team power plutonium and it is calibrated to the esc
