Can anyone tell what is the longest available ball stud. Ideally that would fit a losi ball cup, but I could work it with a metric stud if necessary.
The other thread here:

recommended edit studs, and edit make this one
ed050030 - Gr.5 (6Al4v) Titanium Ball Stud 4.3mm x 13.0mm Long.
Question: is the 13mm the overall length or the threaded section?
Thanks

What is it that you are trying to acheive Ian, as a long threaded ball stud may not be the only way of doing it.
I would assume though that the Edit part has a 13mm metric thread (Losi use an imperial thread). I'm not sure whether the Losi cups fit on a 4.3mm ball.

Hi Dave,
I'll start at the beginning....
I got my fibrelyte shock tower parts for my XX4 and with the camber link mounting re-enforcer non of the holes line up. So I thought I would just put a slot in it and put the ball stud all the way through with a nut on the back. To do this I need a ball stud with 13mm length (threaded section) minimum.
The edit site claims they are Losi compatible, see link

If you have any other ideas then I am all ears.

Well this is probably one for the Losi experts as I don't really know enough about how these parts are supposed to fit together.
Perhaps there is a manufacturing fault by Fibre-Lyte?
Either way I wouldn't want to slot parts as that will weaken them and/or make the fit less secure.
By the way you can also get ball nuts which will let you thread a longer screw from the other side without needing to hunt for a long thread ball stud. Kawada make quite a variety of metric ball ends, available through Much-More UK - http://www.muchmoreracing.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4_108

long screw and tamiya ball with internal threads. have it any length you want then. You'll need tamiya 501X or similar 5mm ball cups tho, but they'd fit on your losi turnbuckles no problem

Dave and Jimmy, I'll give that a go.

Ian, if you get the Tamiya set up as recommended by Jimmy, I have loads of spare Tamiya ball cups (never going to use them as I run Schumacher hardware on the car). You're welcome to have the Tamiya ones.
