You cant go far wrong with a Hyper 8 they are pretty indistructable and you can get parts all over ebay for peanuts. They are put together very well and the wear rate is good.

I think the Hyper 8 comes with a choice of engine, its the .28 engine that makes it not BRCA legal so try and get one with a .21 engine.

Still got an Hyper 7, it is strong and robust and as has already been said parts are commonly available. We are now running and Hyper ST Truggy, again strong and robust.

I think Hypers are ideal as a first car as they are reasonably priced and very popular, lots of drivers have had one at some time so can help with set ups etc.

you could keep an eye out for some 2nd hand ace servos..my steering one is 3 yrs old..thats a good life on a 1/8th too.

theres a few futaba rebagded ones that hongnor/ofna do for about £25,metal geared and high torque so have a look for them..made same as futaba but cheaper/different sticker

not sure on bodyshell sorry

my advice is dont buy second hand servo's! your better off buying 2 new ace ones... atleast you know they will last a long time if you buy them new, because in the 8th, the servos take a kicking lol:thumbsup:

the ace ones are the ONLY ones i would ever buy 2nd hand..they just seem to outlast anything out there.

Hyper 8 shell is same as the 8.5 as far as I know the nice looking option in my opinion is a Proline crowdpleazer 2 shell for the Hyper. But for now save you penny's for the servo as the shell will be trash shortly any way lol
