Right, my club is in need of buying another box of gaffer tape, after buying some of the cheaper stuff from ToolStation, we need to know where other's buy theirs from, and how much they are paying. As long as the tape is pretty sticky, and happily tapes primafelt carpet!!

Cheers!

Adhesive Specialities Ltd who trade as "Tickitape"...

They are the actual manufacturer, which is where we buy from. Multiple grades for varying "stickiness", choice of colours too. Cost will vary on how much you buy, we buy 12 boxs at a time to get the best price possible, may not be as cheap for just one box, but they will happily quote you

Do you have the actual tape reference that you buy, at hand please Darren?

We are currently trying a supplier off ebay for 3M branded silver gaffa tape which works out @ £60 inc postage for 24 rolls of 50mm wide x 50m

PM Bete B, he buys ours, but in bigger bulk than your talking, there's a minimum order value of £200 or something I think.

We've just swapped to getting a cheaper grade of gaffer after some testing on our carpet & features to see if it still worked as well as the more expensive stuff we used to get....which it did...happy days!!!

Have a funny feeling it might be same place as Darren mentioned...

:D

They have never told me the actual grade sadly, they just refer to it on the phone as cheap and dear LOL. Last time we brought any was about 5 months ago, so i dont have an invoice to hand sadly, but their sales team will let you know.

We found that the dear stuff was actully less sticky than the cheap, but when I asked them they said this was normal, since dance schools and theatres use it a lot for marking stages etc and dont want it to leave marks behind where as the cheap stuff does. The reason we wanted the dear was they dont make "red" in the cheap stuff and we use red (and white) to tape our track markers down, but we then use the "cheap" silver (closest we could get to the grey colour of primafelt) and some black for taping the carpet itself down.

The 3m stuff that Chris mentions we found was simply not as sticky...

CPC/Farnell do tape for £2.25 a roll (48mm x 50M - Black or Silver) or 10+ at £1.78 and + VAT. Orders over £45 delivery free

here: http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-power/a-wpt50-sl/waterproof-cloth-gaffer-tape-silver/dp/CB0001607?Ntt=cb0001607

At the CPC site for best price, go through the Publication Tab and search the various Brochures for the special offer price code numbers (two extra digits on the code). Put the code number in the search box to confirm stock availability and quantity price.
These code numbers are better prices from those listed in the main catalogue (main catalogue price £4.59 !!) :woot:

Have been using their tape supplies for the last couple of years to hold down both the Duo carpet and now the Track GT carpet.
