Can anyone tell me the part numbers for the Ali replacement rear wishbone hangers/ mounts ( forward and back) for the rb5sp2
I am on the plastic kit items , cannot find my manual and don't want to order the wrong ones as I hear they are quite expensive
Also I'm a little confused as hasn't the rb5 got lots of different length wishboes and mounts etc?
Many thanks

I find the rb5 spares a bit tricky
Does anyone know the differences between all the rb5 models?

511 and 512 are the narrow ones and 513 and 514 are the wider ones. Old RB5 had narrow, worlds rear end didn't change them, SP onwards have wider mounts. HTH's

Sure you know already but just in case the wide mounts give freer rotation where as the narrow ones give more initial side bite & encourage the car to square up faster @ the vvery last moments of a corner. This means they can be used to change the character of the car.

Generally I'd run the narrow as I like the rear locked in & a car to steer from the front rather than rotate hard off power, changing to the wider mounts only for high grip super tight & twisty tracks

Thanks Roger
No I didn't know about this
Very interesting
So would you buy all types if you were me?
I've owned my rb5 vega (sp2 not worlds) for a while but not used it much due to my local club not doing much so never really followed the rb5's progress
I'm now using it weekly at maritime
So all of a sudden fallen in love with it
So strong
And easy to drive
Thanks Roger

I had both types in aluminium yes. The original RB5 plastic hangers weren't the strongest, then again not that weak compared to some other manufactures, so ali was a no brainer.

The latest parts (UM708C I believe) seem to be much more up to the game and thus I'd not specifically suggest replacing those with aluminium.

If your only going to go for one set in aluminium I would suggest getting the set you will use most often depending on your preferences and most visited tracks and keep the plastic vesions of the others to tune if needs be.

Whilst "not cheap" I'd not say the hangers are too expensive either, Kyosho quality is never going to come a Ansmann prices but I think that the hangers aren't too badly priced considering they are a once only purchase.

If you use the ali hangers you should change the hinge pin bushes for LAW32 delrin ones, the others will result in wear in you shiney new hangers very quickly.

No, very strong & reliable car. As I said with the latest plastics even the hangers are up to the game, think of the ali ones as insurance.
Only thing I suggest otherwise is putting a washer over the top & bottom shock mounting balls to prevent them popping off in a big hit.
Car is tough

Hi Roger which parts are the narrow RF or RF2 and equivalent other end running the SP2 and need more rear grip this sounds like i have the wide and could do with the narrow

I can't remember the numbers for the ali versions, if you look on the setup sheets they are the two with the lower part number.

Both versions are supplied on UM508B (or C) in plastic form if you want to try before buying the ali versions.
