Been after a bit more steering on carpet for my tc02c so decided to have a play with weight distribution. By moving the lipos 90 deg in the chassis it has centralised the weight more and moved the balance point of the completed car forward by about 20mm.

Looking forward to testing it next Wednesday at Mansfield.

You could also try the 30g brass weight/ suspension holder up front and/ or the 30deg alloy hubs. If your not running these already.

No not much, would be better with a low profile servo but I don't have one of them. I reckon it will change direction a lot quicker like this, we need to compare yours and mine during practice next week.

If it don't work I can put it back to standard within a few minutes, all I had to do was drill new holes for battery clip towers and trim down one of the chassis braces.

You have cutt the chassi to this?
Did you have more flex?
Did you try again with the normal position and your's in a same trainning?

Yes I cut down the part of the chassis at the front of the lipos, if there is any more flex it is a very small amount.

I am trying it tonight at my local club, there is someone with a very similar driving standard with a normal tc02c so I'm going to test it against his. If my setup is no good I can get it back to standard in 20 minutes so is easy to change

I'm confident it will work well, I will report tomorrow! :)

It wasn't mind blowingly better, but it definitely changed direction quicker and jumped more reliably. I wasn't running any weight whatsoever, so next time I will be trying out some weights in various places.

I was thinking of doing something similar to mine. I was going to move the lipos forward in there original configuration and move the speedo and receiver to the back by the motor.

Is the back end compressing into the jumps? And therefore meaning you have an awful takeoff?
Try stiffening up the rear end if so. Will also improve steering.

Other things you could try are a bit of weight around the servo as you've mentioned. 20-50g should cover the extremes. If you have an alloy arm holder with a brass weight try that or the 30g brass holder up front.
Adjust ride height to shift weight distribution during power off/on. Are you running the 0deg anti squat? Again try with and without now you've changed cell configuration.
30deg alloy hubs will give you a lot more steering if you don't already have them.
You could even shorten rear links if you want it to rotate more or go SWB. Plenty to try :)

I run 30deg hubs and 30g brass weight and have loads of steering on the akula. Been slowly getting the balance back on the car to the point where it feels almost there now.
