Just finalising my shopping list for parts for my newly aquirred Zx-5. I have listed the parts i am getting below so what do you guys think?

I wouldnt buy a brushless until next year personally, they still need more development before they will be very reliable.

don't bother with the 7 deg hubs as the car is much better with 10 deg. And the front knuckles offer no benefit except bling. Same for the alloy wheel hexes, just bling. in fact i found them slightly small than the kit plastic ones making them slightly looser fit in the wheels increasing risk of rounding the hexes.

the shock shafts are fine in the kit, they are silky smooth, just get the new O rings to prevent leaks.

the atomic carbon stuff is great.

you don't need to run a front sway bar, just rear.

get the front alloy hinge pin retainer, essential.

also ceramic diff balls because the kit ones are useless, don't even build it up with them. I have some ceramics you can have, front and rear diff + thrust balls for a good price, i bought in bulk.

Yeah the diff balls I would change.. I need to do mine, Ive been racing around a very poorly diff for a while

i can sort you out too Jimmy. i ordered a couple of extra sets on my last order. Niggs has a set in the post, they didn't arrive in time for the F3 for him unfortunately.

Thanks for the response on the buggy, ill take on board your comments when i put it all together. Basically I was just looking at getting as many hop up parts as i can for the buggy and then experimenting with the setup until i find something thats right. Most of the parts i have chosen either for strength or weight, two major factors when putting together a buggy.

Also I read the review on the atomic carbon kit and the screw kit so these are right at the top of the list. Then for the motor, i want a brushless setup and have looked at loads of different types. In the end a lot of people like the LRP setup so thought i'd go for that and with the new vector x11 coming out i think thought it would be a good option to go for.

As for the ceramic diff balls that would be great. Could you send me a PM with price etc.

dont buy the alloy steering knuckles. they twist VERY VERY easily. for $30, in this case, you dont get what you pay for.:eek:

People seem to forget the option of associated Tungsten carbide diff balls. Works great for me and A LOT cheaper compared to the ceramic ones.

The LRP BL setup works fine for me, but it's worth to wait for the X11 generation, The main difference is that it uses an oversized front bearing like Novak. I have a 4* and 3* motor. The 4* has tons of power, but the 3* would be the more sensible choice for most tracks.

the associated ones are ok, i had them previously.
i wouldn't pay normal UK prices for the ceramics, i got mine cheap from China. Also the ceramics are much lighter than the tungsten giving lower rotating mass. The diffs are far smoother now than before and my car wasn't slow at the F3's as Niggs can testify!!
