I've rigged mine up to roast a turkey as it goes round the track. Is this safe? I've checked the BRCA handbook and can find no mention of this being illegal.

I'd say that as long as its done with good'ol safe propane gas and any naked flames don't extend beyond let's say 2.5 metres or so from the vehicle... Yeah, I call that safe!

I can't believe I've mentioned this to wife and son and now I've been dragged into the Xmass themed car thing big time. No worries it'll be safe, we are leaving the Christmas chainsaws out for safety's sake.

Are pyrotechnics allowed if I promise not to burn holes in the carpet?
