For a while now I've really started to hate the Spektrum Module in my 3VCS, The ariel is shite! It gets in the way all the time & its so very easy to break.
Last week i snapped the swivel mount. So the tip was just loose.
So I decided to mod the ariel so it came through the internal 40mhz hole.
Here is how I did it:
First remove the module & battery, you will need to remove the 4 screws holding the back of the case on.

Then you need to take the module apart, Again very easy, Just 4 screws in each corner.

You can see above the broken part.
Trace the ariel lead back to the PCB, it simply pushes on.
With the ariel removed, You need to insert it into the 3VCS body, Its a good tight fit. You could use a little glue/silicone, But it not needed.
Also note the lead coming out.

Next, you need to re-attch the back of the 3VCS, There is already a hole in the back push the lead through this, You need as much length as possible to allow you to re-insert the module.

You will need to make a small hole in the module so the ariel lead can get back inside to fit to the PCB.

Once you have the hole drilled, Insert the lead and connect it back to the PCB,
screw the module back together and clip it back in as per normal.
Thats job done!
No more stupid ariels sticking out of the back! :D
