noob truggy advice - recommended rtr for about £175

Hi guys, total newbie, last rc car was a Nikko grasshopper clone about 20 yrs ago. I fancy a new car and have been looking at a truggy as they seem more robust and better for bashing around.

Don't plan on racing yet but want a decent car that's well made and fairly tough, massive too speed not that important but would like brushless as from what I understand the car runs longer on a charge.

I have about £175 to spend on a rtr (small kids mean I don't have the time to build a kit)

Must be 4wd but would consider a buggy rather than a truggy if it's the right car

So with all the knowledge on here what would you recommend.

FTX carnage brushless
LPR S10 Blast tx
Ansman Blizzard rtr

Are these any good, which is best, etc.

You said it must be 4wd, but for a beginner a 2wd would teach car dynamics and driving skills. They are also cheaper to buy, easier to maintain and won't need as many tyre changes (you'll only need rears). More fun too:thumbsup:

I did look at 2wd but as i just plan on blasts in fields\parks etc, i thought 4wd would be better with less grounding\getting stuck\hassle.

Modelsport have the Blizzard on offer at £89 which seems like a good deal (i need all the combo extras so it would work out at £133 all in)

I do fancy some jumps though, which I am guessing a truggy is going to be alot better at soaking up (looks like it on the vids on youtube I have watched), plus general blasting about a truggy 4wd looks more fun.

I don't want to be the worlds best driver\don't plan on racing and cost afterwards is not really a factor if its only going to be £10 here and there.

I've been here for over 20 years with in prof. R/C and i had all car types down . Also i make's shortly , the best allrounder were the 2wd Stadium Truck it call's now Truggy... is wider , had bigger tires and can better drive it over all places out . They are best choice ;)

Well I ended up buying a ftx carnage brushless, first run tomorrow, I'll let you know how I get on later.

Well, took this out for bash the other day, pretty impressed with it, very fast compared to what I have used before.

Had an issue with the included charger as it was not clicking onto the green LEDS once the battery had charged up fully (they stayed red) but got this changed from Morley Models where i bought it from.

Seems quite well built for the price, flipped it a few times at speed without any damage apart from loosing a body clip.

I wanted to know who actually made these cars and managed to find out they are actually made by a company called River Hobby and are called BLX10 Truggy
