I'm more of a yokomo fanboy but my love also extends to the kyosho family.

Bought this lazer zx many moons ago...only now have I turned it around.

Unfortunately, I haven't got the original pics of the wreck I bought. All the parts were there, but heavy wear and rust.

And to add insult, it did come with this body:

Makes me just detest the original lazer zx body even more! I mean, those decals....

Anyway, enough chat from me. My build tells another story...

Cool, nice shape!

Kamtec right?

How about the wing?

Very nice indeed. The shell and wheels suit it perfectly and tbh isnt out of place considering a lot of drivers used the mid shell which is almost identical to the zxs shell.

Dan

It's a kyosho blast wing...bought it from penguin. Needed trimming.

Thanks.

The mid shell is very similar. One of the key differences appears to be a slight bulge on the front left of the zx-s shell

Yup, that was to vent the esc with cool air. The team used the Mid shell with a cut in the shell to do the same. Mind you not all the drivers put the esc on the bottom chassis, Jamie Booth put his on the top deck at the back.

As you may realise the servo may hang slightly over the zx chassis. The futaba esc also had the same issue. Therefore, I had to make slight gaps within the zx-s undertray to accommodate these components. The body now fits over the chassis fairly well.

Believe it or not what you did other guys have done as well and admit its a good idea and does look good. Youve done a good job on your car.

Im now putting my zxs through a few changes as well and have put in a reedy brushed motor and a tekin 410k as thats what i used up until 2000.

Hi Richie,

I can't be absolutely sure as I took those from spares I had lying around. I have the original yellow wheels but can't find a good set of tyres that will fit them (they are 2" rims).

You could try Kyosho W5204W and W5203W?

2" rims? I have those on my car are the wheels on your car larger? This may explain why my lazer looks weedy in comparison to the cars I see on here!

Yeah, 2.2" with kyosho hex fitment..I've got loads of 2.2" tyres...can't be bothered to search for 2" tyres.
