I'm looking to buy a petrol buggy/truck for off road bashing.

Wanting something decent quality but not expensive enough to break th bank.

We'res a good place to start?
Something I could upgrade over time to race spec maybe if I ever wanted to start but something strong and quick is really what I'm after.

If anyone has something forsale please let me know running or not.
Thanks.

About £300 mate at a push, IDE rather buy something needing a little work and make it better over time.

£300 for a large scale is a low budget, top race cars cost £5000 to build!.best would be an fg marder, carson attack.avoid mcd unless you have a big wallet to keep them running.marders ok but will never be a race car.,but plenty of parts available and upgrades (if you have the money).avoid the cheapo chinese type cars, build quality is poor.

Yer mate I understand, looking like I'm trying for an fg. Just wont have the money for something better. I have to many toys at the moment lol

Still need to buy a 1/10 h2 kit yet but that keeps getting put on hold.

I have a fg marder and its great for bashing. Very strong and fast enough and parts are easy to get hold of and not too expensive.

I have purchased an fs monster truck, needs a little work but got it at the right money so all is good.

Anyone any advice on we're to purchase spares for an fs?

FS don't you mean FG?

Just realised that FS is a copy of FG so you may find some FG parts fit

fs also copy mcd.put some pics up of it,it will help identify which car/make they have copied

I will once I get it.

It is a copy of an MCD monster truck, its the 30cc engine.

Was imported from the states and he guy ended up getting hit with the import fee's and it cost him a fortune.

It requires 3 servos, could anyone tell me which 3 to go for? He said 2 were 1/4th scale for the steering and the other was for the throttle/brake.

ok,best servos are multiplex rhinos but are about £85 each, hitec do some basically the same but poorer quaility casing, same electronics for about £55 each.all fs mcd copys i have seen were based on the evo2 sport and the mcd evo was poor so good luck with it,but i did warn you not to get an mcd or a chinese copy and you did both!.and before you ask,yes i have had an mcd evo2.mine was the competition model and i needed 2 cars to try and keep one going, hence why i sold it quick time!.

it was an impulse buy at the right kind of money for my budget mate.

hopfully ill be able to maintain ok.

are metal gears needed for the steering and throttle servos? just been looking and the metal ones arnt much more expensive so might aswell pay the little extra if there a better idea.

all proper large scale servos will be metal geared.

Have a look at the Savox range...... SV0235MG & 0236

You can run them on 6 or 7.4v for maximum torque and can use 2s LiPo safely as i am ;)

I have had roughly 12 large scale all different makes but the one that stood out was a Carson...damn ,that thing was bullet proof!
I had an FS and found it was ok for bashing and the parts were 99% compatible with the MCD range but the thing that let me down was the gearing.I went through a spell where as I was busting all the gears, got some MCD and the problem was solved.
