how do you repair plastic?

ABS / nylon type plastics.. is there a product i can buy that can be used to repair the plastic such as filling the holes etc ?

i use a soldering iron with what is basically a 5mm spade tip hammered out to form a spade type shape, and strips of similar plastic to melt into and fill damage, will never be as strong as new though. it helps to melt down into a break and then fill the hole with new plastic rather than just fill over the break. use in well ventilated area, it will make your eyes water even then sometimes

ABS is easy, Plastruct Plastic Weld is designed specifically for gluing ABS and works with acrylic and polycarbonate.

Not much will glue nylon though. You can use cyano after you have used a cyano plastic primer (http://www.shop4glue.com/plastic-primer-colourless-for-hard-to-adhere-plastics-such-as-polyethylene-etc--10ml-30-p.asp) on the nylon first but it still isn't a strong bond.

I use a glue at work. Designed for aerospace plastics you can fill , weld , drill , tap , anything I will find out what it's called but I know it's pricey £60 for a tube it would last a while for rc thou :thumbsup:
