Mini info/help/advice please,,,,

Hello,

After a very long period of not racing rc cars I've returned with a new passion for it!!

I've already bought a 1/10 2wd buggy (tc02c) and have raced it a couple of times at broxtowe and mansfield club,

My last visit to broxtowe I was very intrigued to the minis racing,,,,

I've already had a dig around on the 'tinternet' and Iam assuming they are Tamiya M series minis,,,,,?

So,,,,, my question is what's competitive? M03?? M05???

Also brushed OR brushless??

Tyre choices?? Spare parts?? Different lengths in chassis?

Any advice would be gratefully received,,,,

Anyone got a 2nd hand mini up for sale??

Hi Matt,

I race the mini's, when I say race im more of a mobile chicane, but I still love it ...

They are the M series yeah, some of us run brushless but allot of the top drivers only run the tamiya brushed sport tuned ...

Ive raced the SWB and the LWB and I see no real benifit to either.

The key components from what ive found are decent Hard Tyres on the front and Mediums on the back and the same for springs on short MO5/MO3 oil filled shocks ... other then these its the driving ... Ive recently put a diff in mine and that made a large difference in the cornering ...

I have a MO5 SWB, with the 3Racing M Series Oil Filled Shocks, a 3Racing Spring set to suit, a 3 Racing Diff with the UJ Drive Shafts, the Hobbywing 13.5T Brushless setup and 2 x CoreRacing 4000 mah 2S Lipos (with rounded edges, the square ones dont fit)

1 pack can easily do 2 races and some times we get 4 races over the evening.

Lots of info to chew on, Ive also seen a 'PRO' version of the M05 chassis,, Does that have all the Hop-Up bits that you have as standard ?

I dont think it comes with a limited slip diff or shocks or the correct tyres so I see no benifit in getting it ...
