Could this national be the turning of the tide?
Jimmy has reported that Neil is going to have a new Yokomo very soon!!
Might this mean a new chassis to develop or is it going to be uber fast right out the box???

i won't go into the legend that is the fornby trough micro-climate, but as long as that works as it should on both days, you won't be disappointed!
all information regarding the club, where we are and local weather etc., can be found on www.srcc.co.uk (http://www.srcc.co.uk) that site will be regularly updated during the preparation for the national.

I have not had a Southport night out since 2005, since the night Butch was in the Chinese hitting the Gong, so funny for those who were there!!
I'm assuming it's still the usual places to go to Southport, Waverleys was the really Cheesy place if I remember correctly???
Saturday night should be such a good night, usual racing rules apply though, if rounds1 to 3 are awful then drinking commences!!

Track postcode: Rotten Row, PR8 2BZ
There is a lot of hotels in town, but most of them are looking well booked up at the moment. Both local travel inns are full too.
So far "The Vincent" and "The Prince of Wales", both on Lord Street are showing availibilty for the friday and saturday. Quite expensive and the vincent has no onsite parking.
A lot of the smaller B&B's are not registered on the internet so often worth a call to tourist information.

Hi Dan
Give the usual suspects a call - I am not sure of their arrangements but you never know. Phil Le Maistre normally heads up by train but the others will drive like Brookie, Stu Band, Nathan, DC, Boults, etc.
If you need contact numbers or e-mail addresses, LMK.

Weather wise, Saturday is currently looking to be the best......
http://weather.uk.msn.com/local.aspx?wealocations=wc:UKXX0139&vv=600
This weekend is one of the "Music in the park" weekends.
The top end of Victoria park will be hosting the summer classics concerts on Friday and Saturday nights.
M-people and The Chirstians will be the acts on Stage for Friday.
Saturday sees performance from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra with Natasha Marsh. There should also be a fireworks display on the saturday night.
You won't see the stage from where the track is, but will certainly be in very good range for listening and seeing the fireworks display.
Tickets are £25, but look to be sold out already.

When there has been a show on, such as car show, the organisers have sent people into the racing field which we camp in, for parking. Ive even seen them charging people to go in, which racers have been able to blag.
Im sure it'll be fine, but id be tempted to recommend arriving early enough just incase.
Chris
Thats my problem chris, i wont be arriving till late on, i may have to come down early sat morning

23-07-2008, 09:16 AM
Dont think you'll have a problem lee. Depends on which way you come i guess. But at that time you'll be going against the traffic so it should be easy for ya.
They wont be using the field for parking, they didn't last year. Most people use the Park-and-rides. We'll all be there till late probs setting up anyway so we'll sort it
The top end of the Park where shows take place is not operated by the council, but by an events company. I don't know if they own it or just have a 100year lease. When events are on the interconnecting gates get closed to sperate the public park from the events section.
Parking for the concert is on the park a ride, which is just a very short walk from park to concert gates.
Only BRCA National drivers, organisers and SRCC members should be allowed to bring vehicles in the park. Other visitors and spectators will have to street park.
SRCC Club members will be on hand on friday and saturday to direct parking.
Access to the park is at the discression of the council and they normally specifiy that access to national competetitors, caravans and camping is allowed from about mid afternoon onwards (maybe Burgie or Eric has the "offical time"), so please don't turn up to early.

No ideal place to camp really. The whole field can turn rather boggy if there are a few heavy downpours. I'd say close as you can get to the track and avoid the depression thats in the middle, that floods first if the rain's heavy enough.

23-07-2008, 03:18 PM
dont put your tent up in front of the drive in entrance from the main road, some rent a cop came in last year and woke me up at 2am with this mains beams on and then sat there with the car ticking over.
he then went driving around the park area

Hopefully the field "shouldn't" flood, its been dry for nearly a week and there is no unusually high tides predicted. If it does rain, hopefully a bit of boggyness will be as bad as it gets.

Neil Cragg was todays winner, running the new Yokomo car he had for the euros.

Unfortunately I have misplaced my tent and believe it was left packed up in its silver bag.
It is a smallish silver/gray Blacks tent if anyone has seen it floating about or has picked it up please let me know.
It would have been left right behind where Mat Benfield and Darren Bloomfield were pitting.
Cheers all,
Dan

Im pretty sure it was next to where i was packing away, we nearly took it to post 'lost tent' on here but werent all together sure it had been been forgotten as people were still packing up..!
It would have been in an obvious place by the time everyone had gone so hopefully one of the southport members will have picked it up so try them..

Yes I saw a Blacks bag there but there were loads of people around I thought that it belonged to someone still there - sorry!
I am sure that someone will have picked it up otherwise I can try and get you an e-mail for a club member.

I was cleaning up yesterday after the national and I didn't see a bag with a tent in it.....I was one of the last people there and I am pretty sure the field was completely empty of all belongings when we left.
just one question though.....who was sick into the purple bin?
God that stank by the time I got to it :bored:

ah man i thought it went like this
Come fly with me, lets fly lets fly away
If you can use, some exotic booze
Theres a bar in far bombay
Come fly with me, well fly well fly away
hahaha. I think joe cockill was more concerned about the beating he was gonna get after he had just snapped his chassis clean in half:lol:
I loved the way he went sideways into the metal stake and the back half of his aero went one way as the front part went the other way :eh?::woot::thumbsup:. Good effort haha

at southport never, never i say,
Just been looking at the 4wd overalls. It is silly close, which should make for a great last meeting.
From my quick calculations both Ellis and Chris D can equal Pidge on points if either one of them TQ`s and wins and pidge does not improve on his current worst score.
Should be a scorcher :woot: Good luck chaps
What would happen in that case, they would both have 1 TQ and win over the series, so how is the championship decided?
footey
04-08-2008, 01:50 PM
probably not how it would be decided but it would be good to see the 2 of them go head to head :)
in a fight?
or with brca legal bb guns :woot:
or with brca legal bb guns :woot: LMAO. What are they gonna use for BB's. Millions

it would go on best single score, which we would all have 131's
then I believe it would go on next best single score, I have 2 130's
having said that, a TQ and win is bloody hard, and at stotfold even harder!
