There are elements I like about it.. it kind of reminds me of the JC highflow at the front. why can't they just copy that body and make room for the transmission?

Ii like it! Looks like a mixture between the RB-5/B4 Azarashi and the AC S2 body. Defo a nice replacement for the original X-6 shell. :woot:

doesn't look quite as much like a Fray Bentos tin as the standard one...

do you really think so?

it's just another generic japanese shell - no good points about that shell at all in my mind - other than it's not stuck on my car! :p

I happen to like generic japanese. :)

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. I think it looks less bulky than the original shell and like the cockpit being a little further forward.

Looks a lot better than the standard hungry-hippo style..

Might prompt jc to revamp the current one :eh?:

Body looks OK to me, but it will certainly reduce the downforce. Wing is just anemic and I think I've seen it before, as though they saved money by using one they already have.

I think you'll be surprised at how much this changes the car. Might be for the good...

Our shells are made with aerodynamics first, looks second. Nobody cares what the car looks like when you're holding the big trophy.

I think it makes the car look a lot sleaker and better lines, yes it looks like a 501X cockpit and an RB5 side, but is that a bad thing?? As for the wing.... well I am sure you don't have to run the one that comes with the shell now.... do you lol.

I for one would hanker after that and an X6, but I do really think the X6 shell isn't exactly pretty.

I like that to. Although with all those little pockets designed to create a wake it ought to create downforce just in a different place to the X factory shell. Have to agree with chazz on the wing though, it aint gonna do much.

Click on picture 3. You can see the wing better there.

The rear wing just seems all wrong to me, IMHO the best aero feature on the X-6 is the stock rear wing. The one in this pic is also waaaay to far back with no way of bringing it forward really.

As DCM says though, you don't have to run that wing. That shell with the stock wing will work great.

I think this shell could do a lot for the sales of the X-6

I like it a lot (agree with the comments about the wing though) I may have to try and see if we can source some of these and get some in if possible...............

I love it, I agree that the original x6 shell is 'orrible, and that this may help boost interest in the X6 to a degree. It is possibly generic in terms of surface language (sorry, designer talk here), but I love the positioning at height of the cabin, and that the rear doesn't look like a duck-billed platipus like on standard X6. The rear also reminds me a little (just a little) of the yoke YZ10 / 91 92 etc shell, my all time fave.

oh yeah, and at least it's more daring and exciting than the dullness proline churns out. They manage to do a B44 shell to fit everything, and a B4 shell to fit everything, even the standard RB5 shell looks better than their option !

i'd have to have one painted up myself to give a final decision of whether i like it or don't maybe it's just that paint scheme in the pics

the shell looks alrite but dont think i would have 1 to be honest i like the original 1 i dont think there is anything wrong with it its just different from any other shell thats being used on cars but i dont think just because of this shell it will improve sales

You obviously don't know the kind of hatered that people have for the look of the X-6

I just think that there are ways and there are WAYS to do it, the shell can be made just as 'aerodynamic' (I hate that word in relation to shells and wings, as it isn't that) as it can still look asthetically pleasing, but then one persons sleek and elegant is someone elses carbunckle isn't it.

But I am liking that new shell!!

I think it looks pretty cool. Much like the RB5, but there are a few points like the shape of the shell on the 'rear sides' where it kick outwards. not very good for waterproofing because it doesn't 'hug the chassis....as i found out with the RB5.
And the wing. I've never liked their wings. They just dont look right.

I do quite like the original style shell though. And its very easy to paint and most designs suit the original too.

but then again if there picking a car for its looks, it would explaine why theres loads of slow cars on the track,

I like the original shel. The azarashi one is okay aswell but I'm not sure about the back of it.

I doubt anyone will do this, but it would be an interesting exercise: Paint our shell and the new one identically. Put them on a car and put the photos side-by-side. That's the only real way to see which one likes best.

I think the paint scheme has much to do with how a shell looks. Some cars make a certain scheme look good while other shells make other schemes look good. A given scheme may look great on this car but terrible on that.

One thing I think few people know: The X - 6 chassis is exactly the same width as the B4, thus the shells are equally wide.

Defo agree with you on that one Chazz. Though I'm no pro when it comes to the art of making clear lexan not very see-through but I do try to 'sense' the lines and flow of a shell - to accentuate the lines and make best of the natural curves. That is - I do when I get free rein to play with my air brush.

It's nice to have a bit of variety and I think it says more about how popular the X-6 has become than it does about the shape of the original.

Trouble is - if the X-6's no longer look like X-6's, how will I know which cars are gonna be tricky to beat when we all line up on the grid.:woot:

At the speed we are all selling X6 kits the advantage wont be around for much longer since at this rate everyone on the grid WILL BE AN X6!!!!!!!

Goddammit it's just not fair.

You guys are just doing too good a job.

I LIKED having an unfair advantage. It was fun:thumbsup:

Now I've got to work at it

Still, it'll be something to tell the grandchildren ...

"I remember them days - when all this was nothing but fields - and when there used to be more B4's at a meeting than anything else. Long time ago now kids - long before you were born..."

wernt far off this weekend at our regional. x6's by far out weighed the b4 in both the top heat and the a final, think it was 7/3 or even 8/2 in the final :woot:

x6's dont quite take up the majority of top drivers in our NE regionals, although there are many around. At Batley the A final was 6 B4's, 2 X6's and 1 D2. Lower down the ranks there seemed to be a lot more.

Matty, we have 10 in a final!

3 X6's
6 B4's
1 D2

And an X-6 won, tripple euro's A finalist wheeling it round, he really tamed the track! :p
