Hi Guys, there might be some strangeness, I am switching hosts.

Northy, I notice you are on the new host, how is it looking?

my DNS has not updated so I can't get there very well... are all the pictures working?

the site on the new host seems to be active for some of you.

I see around 50% hitting the old one, 50% hitting the new one.

this is basically due to the DNS not being updated for each of your interweb providers.

if you want to hit the 'new' site then use http://host91.hrwebservices.net/~doughty/ for now.

but please be aware, if you DNS is still old, many of the links and pictures will send you back to the 'old' site.

I am afraid we just have to wait for the DNS to spead around the interweb!! mine is still on the old one :( go interweb!!!

You can get around it by setting your browser to use a different proxy, I remember having to do the same myself when I couldnt see the change but most people could.

see you got the same as me and jonathan then, does this mean loads of big files on the way ? ;)

I can't 'fix' or at least 'setup' anything on my new host yet, give me a while, I think the perms are going to be a bit screwed.

so is 'CP' working on the new host then? I can't test theat either!!! grrrr

I go through a proxy at work so there is very little I can do.

I am with the same host as you and Jonathan :D

I think I did a pretty good job, between choosing them yesterday around 3pm and having it 'live' by this morning was pretty good really. just wish DNS updates were as fast!! grrrr

cool, nothing wrong with Gifs that I can see.... the 'settings' should be exctly the same

Ian, could you just put up a post in the 'NEW' pit talk forum saying that if they can read your message they are on the 'new' server and can continue from now on.

other people may still hit the old one, anything they do will be lost (sorry - its how it has to be)

No prob, i posted this:

If you can read this you are on the NEW server and you can continue as you are , if you know someone who isn't please notify them as whatever they post WILL be lost until their ISP's update their DNS and they can view the forum via the new server.

Chris, if you want to see your new forum properly, use (for example) this proxyserver.

80.80.12.124
port: 80

In firefox browser its just option, connection settings. And set it as the http.

I put it in, checked out the new forum, went back to default (direct connection) and browsed your old forum.

not sure how you enter this in IE since I dont use it.

What ISP do you use ? they might have different proxys you can use..

to get that, I did a search for web proxy and used the first on a huge list

http://www.publicproxyservers.com/page1.html

Thats the only way I can get on your new server..
There is a list of NTL servers somewhere, which I could have used instead.. but this was easier.
