Hi,

Just ran a new build SV2 at my club on the weekend giving it a shakedown.

Has anybody who changed from a SV to an SV2 noticed that the SV2 steering setup seems to have more play/slop than the SV?

I've checked over everything & all the fasteners are tight, next time at the track I'll check a few other SV2's but just thought I'd ask the Opple guru's in the meantime:D

Update.

I checked a few SV2's on Sunday & they all have the same play, so its normal for the SV2.

That's what I found, when I changed over to the SV2 my laps times are about the same if not a little better (more consistent) so the extra play does not seem to be a problem.

Adding a 0.3mm spacer on the front axles takes out a lot of play

Hi,

Thanks for the tip but its not play in the wheel to axel fit, its the linkage arm underneath the bulkhead with the bearings in it. It just has more movement/play than the SV.

As I said it doesn't seem to make any difference to lap times. I've run an SV around a track then changed the shocks & the wheels over to an SV2 and ran around the same track 10minutes after running the SV and my lap times were the same and probably a bit more consistent with the SV2.

That was before I did a few 'tweaks' to the SV2, now I'm a little bit quicker with the SV2:thumbsup:

I put a tiny bit of super glue around the outside of the bearings and push them into the rack.

Hi,

Great tip, I'll try that.

Many Thanks
