Just a quick question (which I know has been asked before) why is oople so slow?
I was one of many people who donated some money to the fund to help speed up oople, but haven't noticed any difference in its speed.
I like to log on quite a lot (somewhat addicted)! Just to check latest threads and news but it takes so long to update I give up.
This is not mention as a dig or to start any arguments as I think the site is quality, could just do with being faster.

I did too. But if we were the only two I wouldn't think £10 goes very far :D
I haven't noticed it been too slow. But then maybe I don't log on enough to hit the heavy usage times.

At times I find it very slow - taking up to a minute to go to a new selection.
It's not my broadband as I'm typically running at 35Meg and more.

Evening,
Just a quick update really - the donations that were received we are extremely grateful for and will certainly go a long way towards the development of the oOple site.
Jimmy has researched extensively which service will be best for the website to move on to, however as we will be moving to an entirely different type of server and the website requires a complete overhaul to modernise and improve it, this will all be done in one go - which means a massive amount of time and effort will go into the move, rather than just the flick of a switch.
It is high on the to do list, amongst many other projects that Jimmy is currently working on. We do appreciate everyones patience so please bear with us whilst we make oOple even better :)

Lock him in the studio until it's done and only open the door to give him McDonalds and Redbull  and maybe little bit speed.

I agree its annoying., I was the one started the donation thing and glad it has got plenty of hits/donations in. That was the idea.:woot:
We all love oople, racing, etc etc. AND hopefully most can understand the complexities that goes into 1, building and maintaing websites, 2, the work Jimmy and Vicky put into oople, 3, the time and effort the admins put it, 4, the great efforts WE all put in to the posts, the coments, advice and suchlike, 5, the advertisers and contributers alike..........
I would love to have it fixed and faster already, I am often frustrated trying to read PM's and posts etc, but find its the evening times is the hardest.
So bear with the oople gods, the techy heads and the admin nutters they will fix the bugs, servers and speed soon enough.
Keep up the great work everyone. we all LOVE OOPLE!!!!

Very slow for me at the moment. Doesn't seem to vary as much as it used to, trouble is its slow almost the whole time :( takes 5 - 15 seconds most of the time to get a page.

No just you Paul. Living in hull your not quite 21st century yet.
I don't know if the Boss has changed anything or not, but I'm finding oOple marginally better of late.
Having said that... when I'm on at 3-4am it's not alot better than it is now:confused:

couple of times this week its come up with the server error page
It has got a bit slow, I'm on virgins super xl mega deluxe with cheese package 100+ Mbs and Oople is the only site that struggles. But i have noticed in google lately if you search something RC related and theres an answer on Oople, it ask to download files from somewhere? So maybe something is wrong some where.
