View Full Version : Sv2 tight diff causing push?

Hi lads,

Just want to confirm something with you. I rebuilt my Sv2 last week and went up to my local track, Bury Metro for some practice in very warm high grip conditions. I had set the diff pretty tight so the motor cogged when the wheel was turned by hand and the car felt fantastic on knackered yellow minispikes, as I said the Bury track is really high grip in the dry.

I then bolted on some brand new minispikes to the rear and now the car began to suffer with a lot of on power push into and out of the corners.

Does this sound like its the tight diff causing this as my rear end will be too locked in on new tyres before I start tweaking my suspension?

Thanks

Chris

Loosen the diff see if it cures it, Normally a tight diff will stop the car from rotating as easy, And will give more "drive".

i think at bury with new tires any car will be a bit keen

My diff slipped on the local track (bought the nitride balls, gonna grab some carbide) so i had to set the diff very hard and noticed what you said.
Car did not Turn Very good then.

The rear was probably coming round more because you had beat up rear tyres on it, then you bolted fresh ones and it stayed put more and pushed because theres more grip to lock the rear in place?
