Hi guys,

New to the sport again after a 20+ year lay off and decided to go with the RTR car following the reviews I found on here. I'll be selling the steering wheel etc as soon as I get though in preference to some sticks!

Great little car for the money. Got mine in mid motor now and got a few of the tresrey bits on it and Im very happy with it :)

Oh change the tires, stock ones are good for bashing but not for the track!

Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to getting back into it!

I intend to convert it to mid motor, should I be doing this right away for indoor racing? Or just crack on and race it 'out of the box' for now?

I did it straight away and replaced the tires straight away. I went and watched a race meet at the club I intended to go to and noticed everyone was running MM and about 2 people were running RM. I did run mine in RM when bashing but for the race meet I used MM and the 210 got me 3rd in the C final on my first ever race meet. Really nice car!

I too have gone with the RTR to get back into the hobby (On its way). Great value it would appear and not a bad set up for an RTR :thumbsup:

I have visited my local club and it runs astro and all seem to run the MM position.

I believe I need to get some additional parts to change the RTR to a MM position?? Do these come as a seperate pack?

Joshyjol did you go for the 4 gear or 3 gear MM?

If you go 3 gear MM then you dont need to buy anything. The chassis brace and wing mount needed are in the parts tree bag that you get with the RTR. I went with 4 gear.

For MM4, you need another Idle gear and Idle shaft and Idle shaft washers and bearings. Part numbers can be found on this page: http://www.team-durango.com/race-cars/dex210rtr/

I have just set my 210 to RM3 and think it goes quite well

it was my DEST210 RTR that inspired my change

Excellent choice ! The only two things I would say need immediate upgrade are the plastic wheel hexes...put some alloy ones on, and the slipper pads, either Associated or Schumacher (I prefer the AE high torque ones as they seem to work well and don't overheat).

The Associated slipper pads are kind of essential
and if you decide to switch to a ball diff, then ceramic or carbide diff balls

If you're running the kit as is you don't need the slipper pads , it's only when you put a hotter Motor in that this becomes an issue and then only change them when the std ones wear out.
I would also run the car for the first time as is and then change to mm4, but just get out and run it as is, the only change would be the tyres and even that's not essential for your first run. Enjoy !!
