It's your club Steve, I'd guess you would know better than we would, ask you fearless leader, he probably has a plan.

Foams actually work OK on the floor in your hall once the dust has been swept by other cars. They are faster on the carpet than rubber but slower on the floor, I found lap times the same on either tires last time, in fact I ran foams for the last qually and the finals.

it all depends on what he decides as a track, if the jumps got carpet on the up slopes, then great, if they don't, then foams struggle a little.

wasn't an issue anywhere last year

Gecko foams grip nearly everywhere :wub

Come on boys, don't be scared of the micro cars, I know they are fast and furious but you'll get used to the speed and big jumps eventually

Are all those guys running brushless there frogger? Ill be running brushed for a while, just wondered what the numbers are in that class?

Doughty's car in that video is brushed, everyone else I think was brushless. We run brushed and brushless together this year as last year the fastest brushed cars in stock were doing faster laps than the fastest brushless cars so there isn't much in it.

With the new Novak Mongoose you can even run sensored brushless for the first time in micro's. The Mongoose's are blisteringly quick so most guys use the 13.5 to race. We also allow lipo's in all classes  so expect 20-40 minute run times with good cells.

Most people now use the FTX Blaze or LRP Shark Monster (with a buggy body) but there are still quite a few Associated RC18's, XRay M18T's, etc. In 2WD you see Exotek converted Mini-T's and Tamiya GB-01/02 chassis.

Cheers frogger, well ill stick to brushed for now, ill be using a KO ex10 and one ive not raced for many years, and two, ive always ran sticks, so im bound to suck for a while LOL.

Well i hope to make a meeting sometime soon, ill be running a Bluegroove in 4WD!

what you reckon Pete, should I race or should I spectate?

peetbee
12-08-2008, 09:39 PM
Well, I'm going to be racing a standard RC18T made from loads of old spare parts, even with foams on your Blaze you'll do better than me, so you won't be last!

RACE, RACE, RACE!

peetbee
12-08-2008, 10:23 PM
That's the one thing in my favour, I hung onto my lipos :woot:
you'll be needing your batteries anyway as you'll be racing, WON'T YOU??

Anyway, now everyone knows that they won't be last, how about a few more entries!!
