How about a secondhand Schumacher SX3, they can be had really cheap at the moment and are still very competitive

Id be looking for a B44.1, You can grab them for a little over £100.
So:
B44.1 - ~£120
Motor & ESC - ~£100
Lipos & Charger ~£80
That gives about £100 to play with on the other bits.
If you need a radio you can get the new etronix ones for about £60.
Leaving about £40 for your tools and bits

B44.1 is a good option as is a SX3 or even a ZX5.
With your budget a slightly older car (ie SX3 instead of a K1) with get you all you need and if setup properly will still be v.competitive.
There is a ZX FS is the for sale section at the moment at a very good price considering the spares it comes with. He's offering it with electrics and Lipos as well. Just need radio and a charger.
