Hey fellas,
Want to replace my XeRun 60a for my 17.5t blinky 2wd (RB6)
Looking at the Speed Passion Reventon Pro or the Viper VTX10-BE at the moment.
Leaning towards the Reventon at the moment but after a bit more advice or recommendations if anyone has any?
The XeRun will be going into a 10.5T blinky 2wd ST (22T, until the RT6 comes out), will be wanting to get the same ESC for both.
If it matters any, I'm running a Murphdogg motor in the buggy and gonna get a cheap 10.5 from hobbyking for the time being (eventually get a Murphdogg or Hacker, most likely the former).
Thanks.

Either one will work well
others to think about:
HW V3 + V2.1 are great
Orion R10 but the prog box is extra
SP GT2

Ta mate.
Thought about the v3 but wasnt sure what to think of it.
You mean the Xtreame stock v2.1?
R10 is a bit more than I'd like to spend (as much as I would like it) by the time the programing box is added.
I don't mind the Novak ESC's, I had a GTB 4cell for a short while, felt a lot smoother than the XeRun and far better brakes but I really dont like the idea of having one single button and a series of lights to program it.
Just had another look around and the Reventon Pro is available with the MMM V3 10.5T motor for $165 posted, I'll probably go this way.
The only thing I'm holding back on is the complaints of them being bricked when updating/changing firmware and general reliability issues.

Yeah but on the forums youll really get more bad comments than people that are happy with stuff.
I have one and am really happy no problems, as do a couple of club mates.
Buy new and have the warranty.
HW I was meaning the V2.1 120A its cheap and I have also had that. Really happy with it.
This one

it comes in 120/90/60 pretty good if your running blinky

Yeah, that's true.
Although I havn't read too much about the Viper but from the quick gimpse I've had, it seems they don't get as many complaints, but could be due to them being more expensive.
I have the 60a version of that HW ESC, not bad but a bit more on the value side I think, I kinda want the feeling of the Novak I had, super smooth and solid brakes.
It'll be the the Reventon, just makes more sense at the moment.
I'm going to need the motor anyway and it comes with the program box and by themselves they go for about $120.
A bloke local has the VTX10R's who is very happy with them, thats the main reason I was considering them, and their small size.

Ive got 2 vipers, standard and black edition and i'm really happy with them the solder posts are good, seem to be a little bit easier to solder to than the tekin rs that i found cramped. the progauge is really spot on, so simple to use. Adding timing advance is easy, and adds massive amount of power!.
On the negative side, they don't run sensorless like the tekin did, so a damaged sensor cable stops the car, and they seem to run hot in practice mode (allows reverse)

Cool, thanks for the reply.
We don't allow any timing in any class aside from 4wd mod (although we are not super strict on it, just an agreed thing and is in the Aus rules).
Which is another reason why I'll likely end up going with the Reventon, I'd be spending all that extra money on features that I likely will never use.
But they look nice, lol.

What a lot of people don't know about the reventon is It dos not work properly with crystal radio sets, works best with 2.4. Or that's what the people at are club found.

I only use 2.4, so not an issue.

the main thing is they are slow but they are cheaper than the r10 so you get what you pay for buy cheap buy twice
