28th September, its usually 10 per team I think. Possibly 5 2wd and 5 4wd if memory serves me well.

Good stuff, having not done one of these before what does the team consist of is it 2 F1`s, 2 F2`s, 2 F3`s and so on or does it not matter?

if i remember right, they stagger the top drivers around the track to even it out, great fun usually.

Yes i think you get 2 of each formula and then the F5's start just before the loop and the F1's start just in front of the loop so they are pretty much a full lap down.
Its a really fun event:thumbsup:

The details are being drafted up as we speak/type. There is a lot of wrong details in this thread already.

If you ask questions on internet forums you ususally get lots of answers, all wrong.

Patience is a virtue.

What we need is a decent brca rep who will correct all those wrong answers :p

chrispattinson

The interclub is usually great, you need to have 5 x F6 drivers and 3 x F0.674 drivers in your team. All drivers in the team share the same car, which must have a mechanical speed controller and headlights, as it is a 24hour event. I'm sure our BRCA rep can confirm these details.

I was always under the impression that it was an interCLUB event and you raced for the club that you were a member of.
If you can't get enough people from your club to Batley then you don't race...

I'd keen for this but NOT to organise the Batley team as 1) I've harly been this year and 2) put a lot into the last 2 and got let down.

Whoever does organise Batley I'd like to race if there is a space.

Lee - The underdogs team is always the best ;)

I think this needs to either be an interclub, OR a general team event. I don't see the point in an interclub, where its not actually the club members racing each other.

I agree, unless you want the usual York procession lets get it about the clubs you race at most, get BRCA membership through etc etc

Northy
14-08-2008, 06:47 PM
Dan, that's what it should have been all about in the past and I think that most of Yorks teams in the past have actually been club members/racers. Infact I think they could have been one of the most 'true' clubmans teams in this respect.

I am also not organising the York team/s.

It just annoys me that last year I placed 2nd or 3rd in York's championship series and couldn't get a place in the York first team due to non members.
Rules should either be applied or the event should be changed!

Out of interest... what would you have me do? I've been out of the country until the week before last so I'm not a member of anything (not even my local library!).

I'm not saying that I'll definitely be there as I'll hopefully be working somewhere but... what would I do?

No Lee I dont have any X cars. And I dont know you so I cant form an opinion as to whether i like you or not.
Calm your ego and think of the bigger picture. How we all gonna encourage new people to start racing...? By being rude and slagging fellow drivers off on here..? No... If you want to make lude jokes with your friends try PM'in them. But try to think of how things might look to an outsider... Or maybe a keen 10 year old's parents trying to find out information...
As you dont know me and I dont know you I shall introduce myself at the next regional. Then you can tally up a face to a name etc...

I know the racing calender is very tight but if theres any chance that the date could be pre-outdoor season start date then could it be possible?
The later in the year it gets, the worse the weather and less people that want to do it imo.

Thanks for trying G - I have seen all the mail you have written to encourage everyone, nothing more you could have done.

I believe the event has fallen from being a competitive club event into a "me & my mates, lets have some fun" event. Perhaps for 2009, we could set it back up as a club event, some sound ground rules and, again perhaps, the club officials may make more effort (me included) to put together a team or two. On the agenda for the next consortium meeting if you like?

If anyone who was thinking of attending the inter club event at Batley, would still like to race there, please let me know. The track is actually in good condition, and the weather so far looks promising. If enough people express an interest I could still run a club meeting (I know its Worksop, hence gauging interest first).
Just post here http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14328 if you would like to come to Batley this Sunday.

Thanks:thumbsup:

Lets be honest, the other reason is it clashes with Worksop which it's clear this year is goig to be the most competetive indoor series anywhere in the country. I realise the interclub date WAS set first but I bet if it were next week there would be a whole load more people available.

Well that is what it has always supposed to have been. This is how I tried to acheive it:

* The details were emailed TO THE CLUBS, not really made public so to speak.

* The CLUBS were asked to enter teams by last Monday.

Not really sure what else you can do?

I agree with dan here 100% and its not just because he is an X factory brother

Like Dan says, if it was last weekend or the weekend after worksop you probably would of had an extra 20+ people attending, people are not going to organise teams for events when the team members are racing elsewhere.

Also i think batley has known about the worksop dates for a good while now and known that it would pull people away from this event, i dont know why it wasnt moved a week either way?
