advice on tight battery in Durango DEX210 RTR

Hi

Just converted sons Durango DEX210 RTR to mid motor, all gone OK but using a standard length battery it is very tight. Without the expense of buying a mid sized length battery i there away of making it fit easier. Does putting the brass mounts in give you a little more room ?

Have you got the battery stop in behind the servo ? If so just remove it

As mentioned below a normal length lipo should fly in. Have you put the two stops on the chassis the correct way around and in the correct location?

Some lipos are a few mm longer than others and I tape mine as well.
What I did was sand a couple of mm off each battery stop. You could always remove one and use a foam stopper instead.

I have also used a bit of rubber tape under the lipo and under the strap so it grips better as well, less risk at a nose landing without the stop will send the lipo thru the servo breaking lugs.

remove the battery bar from in front of the motor and use a foam battery spacer in front of the motor. tons of room

not really a good idea to have your battery smash up against your servo in a crash.

Or other alternative and simpler to do is just remove the brace by the servo and use an associated battery foam section and cut to size and double side tape it to the servo case.

Just sand a couple of mm off the plastic retaining blocks for the battery. I had the same problem with mine when I fitted the Dimec20 chassis.
Tried putting my Vampire saddle pack in and it wouldn't go. Easy fix.
